Nathaniel Bryan 6 Report post Posted January 18, 2010 http://www.kentuckynewera.com/articles/2010/01/18/sports/paid/doc4b54a68fad2c1716849757.prtCCHS places 5 at Creek Wood InviteFrom Staff ReportsPublished: Monday, January 18, 2010 12:42 PM CSTThe Christian County wrestling team had five grapplers place individually en route to a fourth-place overall team finish Saturday at the Creek Wood Invitational in Charlotte, Tenn.Kory Polley pinned Matt Baker of Gibbs to win the tournament championship for the Colonels at 130 pounds.Asa Odoms (103) Jeron Trice (160) and Marlon Pate (285) were all runners-up for the Colonels and Steven Stapp took fourth in the 285-pound weight class.The Colonels will face Daviess County and Caldwell County Thursday at Daviess.The Christian County Middle School team placed nine wrestlers in the Region 1 state qualifying tournament after their matches in the first middle school district tournament over the weekend at Trigg County.Brandon Wiley (140) and Tevin Tolar (230) led the way with runner-up performances for the Colonels.Christian County Middle will participate in the Region 1 tournament Saturday at Union County.Urban leads UHA Blazers at Creek Wood InvitationalWrestler Daniel Urban led the University Heights Blazers with a first-place finish in the 152-pound division Saturday at the Creek Wood Invitational in Charlotte, Tenn.Wade Willen took home a runner-up slot in at 112 pounds, while Cameron Montgomery placed third at 125.The Blazers will travel to Atlanta Friday for the Southwest Prep School Slam. UHA will be the only representative from the Commonwealth of the 35 teams from 10 different states.The UHA Middle School team captured second in the district tournament at Trigg County at Saturday, trailing only Union County.Zach Hamby (75), Dalton Putty (82), Coby Lancaster (89) and Trae Blackwell (96) all won the district championship in their respective divisions.Blackwell earned the tournament Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
