AIA Wrestling to host Russian team in Ohio

Athletes in Action is excited to host a team from Kabardino-Balkaria Russia this week in Ohio. We will be hosting 6 wrestlers ages 12-20 including the 84 kg Russian junior champion. They have 3 athletes at 80-100 pounds and 3 at 185-heavywieght as well as their coach a former high level wrestler from Russia. Steve Barrett AIA Wrestling staff and 77' NCAA Champion for Oklahoma State and 80' Olympic Trials champion will be with them as well.

We will be working out at the Carr wrestling club Wednesday night at 6:30pm (Carr club has a $10 fee). Bringing international teams of all ages is something AIA wrestling is looking to do more of and we are excited to welcome and host these guys. We also plan to take them to Ashland University Thursday for a work out. We are going to take them to do some cultural things here in Ohio as well.

From here the team travels to Michigan for a few days and then on to Chicago. In Michigan they will be joined by John Peterson AIA Wrestling staff and 72' silver medalist and 76' gold medalist.
