  1. If any programs are doing summer or off season workouts and allow other kids from other programs to come join and workout. Please post them on here, once you have the schedule figured out. Post the address and days and times of the practices. Also if your off season training is free or if a fee is involved also include that as well.  Many programs do absolutely nothing during the off season. So this could be a great opportunity for Ky wrestlers who want to get better. I think this forum is the perfect place to post off season workouts that allow other programs to come join in. That way instead  of searching facebook looking for teams that allow kids to come participate. We can just come here to the Kentucky wrestling forum and easily find information to get better.. #IronSharpensIron. #KyStrong #300.

  2. To many coaches don't update track. To me It would be unfair to seed them off rankings..Lot of programs could care less about rankings, probably because they are to lazy to post results, let alone fight for a seed.. . Random sucks, but it is fair. Nobody can cry foul. Nobody can say the ranking are wrong etc. Random = no excuses. That's how I see it. But I'm not on the board. So whatever happens .. It is what it is. I won't lose any sleep if they seed it.

Oh im sure. Being lazy, just going to wait until Track posts the matches.

I’m intrigued by the possible Noah Duke vs Colin Stevens quarterfinal match up. Colin Stevens beat Clayton Boyd at state last year, then Boyd beat Duke this year. Only common opponent I could find even tho it spans two different seasons.

#5 Chapman vs #7 Armstead quarters

#1 Pye vs #2 Lawson in Quarters. #4 Kinley vs #8 Jones 2nd round

#2 Bacon vs #4 Hoppes, #1 Deck vs #3 Lutes Quarters

    #3 Adams vs #4 Cowan 2nd round.

    #4 Pogue vs #9 Deckard 2nd round.

    #2 Carr vs #4 Rivera 2nd round

#1 Brown vs #5 Coleman 2nd Round. Winner vs #3 Baber in quarters.

    #1 Ervin vs #6 Kelsay 2nd round. #3 Boyd vs #5 Slayton 2nd Round

#3 Blanton vs Moore first round. Rematch from ultimate tie breaker match at state duals.

#4 Abren vs #7 Marchal 2nd round (rematch I think)

    #5 Ornelas vs #9 Bush 2nd round

#2 Bussell Vs #4 Horn Quarters

    #3 Watkins vs #4 Stone 2nd round

When I did it.. I had Luke Chapman Vs M. Meyer in quarters? Luke and Riley Johnson 1st round? I must have done it wrong.. Lol I just wait till Monday..

On a SIDE NOTE Its hard to win in Johnson Central its like Rupp Arena the crowd gets rocking.

I agree. In practice, a growth allowance rarely accommodates for growth of podium-level wrestlers throughout the wrestling season. Instead, the top kids often wrestle at higher weight classes throughout the season and then drop to lower weight classes (plus the growth allowance) for regionals; the end result is the exact opposite of what the growth rule is meant to encourage (e.g., healthy growing kids).

Since the wrestlers are only required to maintain a given weight class for two weeks after regionals, I personally see no need for the "growth" allowance and would happily hold the wrestlers to scratch weight. An additional snow-day allowance only works to further the advantage of heavier kids that already cut weight for regionals.

    Lol agreed!

There is no need for any additional allowances. Don't tell me that because there was a snow day that these kids grew by 2 lbs. They already got 2 pounds before Christmas and now you want to give them another 2? The 70 lb weight class might as well be 75 lbs and so forth. If you can't make weight because of a school snow day and you need 2 more lbs than what you have already been given then you are in the wrong weight class or you are cutting heavily to get there.

Being withing a couple of pounds of your wrestling weight class (ie 70 lbs and walking around 72) is weight management, if you need an additional 2 lbs because you're walking around at 74+ plus then your are simply cutting weight.

Does "no school" mean that a kid can't dress in his sweats at home and do push ups and sit ups? Practice is not the only way for athletes to get a workout.

If cutting weight is what your kid feels he needs to do in order to be more competitive, then be prepared to make sacrifices that other kids aren't or don't have to.

BTW, not all NKY schools were off today. Boone County did not close.

    Preach!!!!!

  6. Congratulations JC! Way to get it done. #GreatTeam! So many programs dealing with injury's I guess Coach Matney didn't believe the risk was worth the reward. Coach wanted to get his kids to the state tournament healthy. Its to late in the year to risk injury in a duel that doesn't count. If you asked the JC kids if they wanted to wrestle again? I'm sure they all would have strapped on the head gear and been ready to roll. You can't take anything away from JC win. If you have any negative feelings they should be directed at JC coach? Not the kids. I think JC coach made the right decision. Stay healthy and get ready for state!

They couldn't have combined every team there except maybe for Maritime and beat the Juggernaut team.  I heard JC didn't have the youth numbers this year or planned on taking a youth team so they used one kid from them.

Petty man. Your saying Nobody could beat em? Even if everyone pulled together? You are talking trash that the kids will have to back up. You should really stop.

Since track wrestling info has already been brought out let’s throw out another one. Current standings are the Warhawks Wrestling Club is ranked 21st in the Nation. The next closest KY team is River City at 102. Warhawks won region by only a few points to Martin. Martin Cardinals beat the Warhawks in 2018 at State. Point is this....neither team “needed” to combine nor were they “desperate” to do so.  No cheating was done because there was no rule in place  add the rule that’s fine   We will just show up and knock even more off the podium

It's one thing to win and be classy. Its another thing to try and justify the loophole in the system. Talk trash about some of the best programs in the State of Kentucky. In middle school will see who has the last laugh. If I was with Juggernauts I would be more concerned with becoming a sanctioned team. Than bathing in a loophole victory. I'm not bashing the kids. They showed up, with good intentions. This is to the parents keeping this going. Get your team sanctioned as a team. I find it distasteful. You won thru a loophole. From what I heard the team was great. Just do it the right way.

One big happy family!  2018 @ State. You know why we are so good. Our kids make each other better, our Coaches coach together, we compete together or against each other but mostly we support each other.

Parents already making enemies with the wrestling community at the elementary level. This could end up being a great rivalry for years to come. Or this could get ugly all thru middle school.Posting pictures rubbing in the win? I know one thing, there a several great Ky programs, who are looking foward to the Juggernauts return. Walton, Ryle, Carr academy, McCracken, Union, Scott, Anderson, Madison Central, River City, Cambell, Johnson central, Woodford, and several others will keep producing studs. Now the Juggernauts will be the team to beat in middle school IF THEY CAN BECOME A CLUB TEAM. If not it will just be that year everyone remembers the trash talk that never got sanctioned as a team. But we can always look back at the pictures posted of this " Team " Either way good luck to everyone involved. Remember its about the kids. When you trash talk for them, they have to back it up, not the parents!

  10. 98 is definitely a tough weight class! Brenner hasn't been mentioned but could win it as well. 70 up to 120 is always tough. What weight class do you all consider to be the most loaded? Here are some kids that haven't been mentioned that I think have a chance to win it all. I'm bored at work. Lol.

    70. Evans

    75. Gardner

    80. Trumble

    86.A. Butler

    92. H. Isaacs

    98. Rowdy

    105. N. Giompalo

    113. A.Messerly I really believe she could be the 1st girl to win state! I know 98 has the girls. But I wouldn't doubt the other Messerly

    120. Owen Vlach

    130. McEleroy

    140. J Swingle

    152. O. Adams

    168. W. Netting

    190. M.Lewis

    240. F. Castillo

  11. I think if you get top 6 at the middle school state tournament then the kid should be ineligible for youth state, as the rule states. But I don't think Kentucky is as good as those other states that you are referring to. At this point in time, in my opinion I'm ok with the rules.as they stand.. But if Kentucky continues the trend and the sport continues to grow thats something that should be brought up.

  12. From what I understand. Some teams or individuals wouldn't compete in State Duels in the past, it wasn't worth the risk of losing a overall one seed. Seems petty. But its smart. That's why they were seeded before state duels. So everyone would agree to attend State duels. I could be wrong. So don't quote me. But that is my understanding of why the seeding happened before State duals.
