I wrestled your guy Gallagher at meet there as well as Trinity. I'm sure we hung out with some of your guys at meets. I'm just glad you remembered That Joilet tournament.

This was all AAU at the time and for some reason 2 or 3 indiana counties where in the KY AAU region. Thats how we got involved with the KY team. Im Phil Cook btw

Ha we had an old cargo van sat on milk crates and had wired some big speakers to the 8 track and hit the road. I had a decent tournament there.

Mcmillan (SP) from eastern was in my weight class at Joliet.

Just for the heck of it. Pick who you think would have been the finalist this season. 2 NCAA finalist in each weight. Pick at least 1 long shot. And explain why if you wish. Stay healthy wrestling family.

I can't see how you could seed state. You could end up with 1 and 2 from same region wrestling early rounds. They could be the top 2 in state. With true wrestle backs to 3rd I don't think it's bad as is.

That's a valid point. And you are 100% correct. However, I do believe it's a trickle down. Positive experience at all levels. Hard to get a family unfamiliar with wrestling to try it. Word of mouth is a powerful tool. You'd think the KHSAA would love for the sport to increase. They should see those $$$ flashing at any growth potential.

I agree with your point in regards to participation awards. However, the parents are the ones that need sold on this sport. Marketing if you will??? Marketing that will reach others. Just good enough or thats the way we've always done it. Simply isn't good enough.

First off. I misinterpreted your comment. So I apologize. So yes please discuss. I agree nominating everyone with 3.25 or higher. What I was saying pick the highest 14 gpa’s regardless of weight class. They are first team. Then the next highest 14 second team. Announce these wrestlers at state. Anyone else with 3.25 or higher is honorable mention. I’m pretty sure we are on the same side here.
