I don't think so- it supposed to be done tomorrow. Lots of warmer weather coming in to melt it. Should have 4 good days to clear the roads and make it safe for all of the participants to get there.

VEGA wins 113-I think Burroughs is on a mission and pulls off several upsets, Watch out for lots of upsets in 106 and 138 too. Several favorites will be upset.

pull ups lots of them

All of the kids that you mentioned are definitely worth the nod. I think you have to include Cagen Wallace in that group too-Unbelieveable freshman season with Wayne County.

I wholeheartedly believe in practicing-but their is an expression that "the game is the best teacher". I hope every kid that qualifies stays healthy and gets that opportunity to compete for the coveted championship. Just seems there has to be a happy medium. 3 weeks is a long time between competitions. If they are banged up, rrest them. If they are not, give them some matches to stay in the groove and keep their eye on the prize. Either way, good luck to all state qualifiers and thanks to the coaches for getting them ready for the big show in a few weeks.

Might also be interesting to hear from some of the state qualifiers along with the coaches. Coaches don't get on the mats and compete in a few weeks-the wrestlers do. Sure hate to see the first two rounds turn out sloppy with flat performances due to a lack of competitive weekends back to back to back. I think the kids or teams that get a few matches in between now and March 10 will be more competitive and ready to wrestle. Just my opinion. Coaches will probably keep them locked up.
-
It is a risk no doubt-kids get bored wrestling the same partners each day-Coaches get bored and cut practice shorter wach day. Kids need to be challenged with live competition weekly or they get stagnant, lose focus, and lose their edge. No kid joins a program to practice-they want, need, and should keep competing to stay hard and ready to climb to the top of the podium.

Are any teams in KY hosting duals or tournaments over the next two weekends? if so, let's get the word out!

Who were the region MOWs from each region and....do you agree with the selection or believe a different wrestler should have bees elected and WHY?

Have any STATE qualifiers dropped out because of the schedule change, injury, etc.

I was wondering if any of the State Qualifiers had dropped out because of the schedule change, other commitments, or injury? -
That is ridiculous. Thank goodness Khsaa has better sense than to enact such a stupid policy. kids deserve more than a single elimination tournament.

Examples of what wrestlers are doing to stay fit during this school closure period

I know some of our guys are going to cross fit training, playing racquetball, volunteering to clear snow from driveways and running a lot on the treadmill what are your wrestlers doing for fitness and weight management during this school closure period? -

Competitive opportunities/restrictions for teams awaiting STATE

Are KY HS Wrestling Teams allowed to compete in interstate duals, scrimmage, or compete in any out of state tournaments to keep sharp and maintain their competitive edge during the next 2 plus week period leading up to the STATE tournament? -

Any chance Saul loses to another wrestler on his side of the bracket before he gets to Bender in the finals? -

The wrestler who wrestled the best in the eyes of ALL of the attending coaches. I think it becomes a popularity event or way to honor a senior at some events. How come we don't give out Quick pin recognitions at tournaments? -
Championship Predictions for each class

Locks for the championship title-Vega 113 (over Hurst in a tight one) Sheffer at 120-Johnson...yes I said Johnson-not Vasquez or Spahr-138, Frankrone-182, ATM-220. Your thoughts -
Will Spahr be ready to go March 10-11? Is Angel 100%? I read on another thread where he was on his back at Regions. Doors may be opening up more for Johnson or one of the Miller boys.

The main roads are clear. It's the back roads in rural areas covered with snow that adds to the risk. Some schools won't let buses out to travel to ALLTECH in this wintry weather and more ice and snow are projected. heaven forbid, we have a horrible accident going to and from the venue. Better safe than sorry.

Is that held at Southport?

i think as the sport continues to evolve and KY wrestlers become even more competitive, seeding the best wrestlers will become more realistic and permissible. But for now, let's roll with it. Too much negativity being exhibited on something we all realize is not going to change in the immediate future. Let's just enjoy the tournament. The best wrestlers will find their way to the podium..

Has the number of entries gone up over the past few years. I remember seeing wt classes with only 2 wrestlers. Not sure why, it is marketed well and is a great venue with adequate support. Anyone have any ideas how to increase participation?
-
should we expect a lot of no-shows for State. Is this the year where a number of 5 seeds get opportunities to wrestle at state? It would be a shame for a dual sport athlete to have miss state due to Spring sport commitments.

Competitive opportunities/restrictions for teams awaiting STATE

I wasn't trying to stir the pot; but I think kids can only lift, run, and beat up their own teammates for so long before it becomes tedious. Boys that qualified are ready and it will be tough on the coaches and kids to stay focused during what will seem like an eternity before they are allowed to go live competitively again. The grind takes its toll. But rules are rules. Hang in their guys!
