  1. Dylan West was at the Region 2 tourney last night and today as a spectator. So unfortunate that he was not there as a competitor. He is such a great young man and I miss seeing him out on the mat. Could you imagine 138 if he were still wrestling this season, already a tough class but throw him in the mix and things would be a lot different. My 7th grader lost a tough match in the finals today and Dylan took the time to go up in the bleachers after his loss and give him some very kind words of praise and encouragement. This meant a lot to my son coming from a wrestler that he looked up to and admired. This young man is a class act and missed by the entire wrestling community.

Thank you Dylan hope to see you next weekend.

  2. With the Middle School State tourney soon upon us let's talk about some of the potential match ups you would like to see. There are some really exciting young wrestlers in Middle school and the future of Kentucky wrestling looks very promising.

I am by no means thinking any of these matches are guaranteed, just some that I would like to see.

    70-Grandstaff v Moore

80- Escelera v Anyone Just because this kid is a stud and so much fun to watch wrestle!!!

    86- Brown v Mattingly

    98- Wheeler v Deck

    105- Insko v Yost

    121- Brown v Ervin

  3. With your lack of patience and understanding that people may have other things going on, I might wait at least another day to post it.

    Take a breath and relax.

Ranger, how dare you have a family, a job, practice to run or anything else going on!!! Now get of your lazy rear and cater to the fans immediately!!!!

  4. stalling,

The last sentence of your post was an insult to many kids. Exactly what you were criticizing others for doing. While Austin is an elite talent he is NOT the only thing keeping kentucky wrestling relevant. Have you heard of Boston, Blackwell, or maybe a family of Ervin's who have been kinda well known around the country for a few years?? Kentucky has plenty of wrestlers to be proud of and yes Austin is no doubt one of them but not the only thing keeping kentucky wrestling relevant. Good luck to ALL of our young men as they enter the post season tourney!!!
