Larue took a huge lead. Meade now sits in 3rd and John Hardin 2nd. Larue just might pull this off.
-
Not 100% sure just know he didn't even weigh in.
-
No major upsets that I saw first round. Everything going as I predicted so far. Meade Leads with 91, Laure sits at 81, and John Hardin at 79 points. These three teams have been leap frogging each other all night. I am sure tomorrow will be a different story. Also really liked wrestling the extra round tonight. It really made since. we were done by 9:30pm.
Only thing I was surprised at was Branden Leak in Blue jeans . Really hated seeing him on the side line especially his senior year. He really deserved the right to finish out his senior year.

First surprise out of region 2. Leak is not competing.

Thanks for the Update. I will also pass it on.

Does anyone know the schedule. Start time for Friday night and Saturday. Also possible entry fee's both days.

Someone got a little upset there Shady, take it easy bud. Like is it wrong for a fan to think his team should win, or to oppose someone who doesn't? This is all talk, wrestling will be the real deciding factor. Whatever happens, happens. As a fan I want to see some good wrestling. As you know duals don't decide a team tournament but if you wanna make excuses because teams don't have full rosters or whatever, that's your prerogative. Any coach will tell half the battle in Kentucky wrestling is filling a team, Meade does it well, LaRue does it well, Central Hardin does it well. That's why Meade and LaRue have been 1-2 the past 2 years. They fill a roster. And God forbid a wrestler has a win by forfeit, that goes for every team some weights are just hard to fill and find matches. Ultimately you can't control if a coach will put a guy on the mat or not. Also according to trackwrestling placement scoring is done out 6th place, so a true indicator would be top six not top four.
No one got upset. If you knock other post. Post your own predictions.

TheLuchadore you can tell clearly you are associated with Larue one way or another by your ID. Instead of commenting on "Predictions". Lets see what you have. Just curious to see what you come up with. Also by the way if you are going off past results. Larue only won Team Dual events against John Hardin and Meade because they had holes in the line-ups (Starters out) at the time and gave up over 18+ points by each JH and Meade. I going off a 14 Man line up now. From what I hear now both John Hardin and Meade have very healthy Wrestlers. Don't get me wrong, Larue has some strong Wrestlers but after looking at their individual matches I really did not see any surprise wins. I want to say their toughest competitor was Wayne this year. A lot of Larue Wrestlers have Wins by Forfeits and some of the Starters lost some questionable matches. But this applies to all three teams. Heck it wont surprise me if JH comes out on top, to be honest I lean more that way. But if you do the math under "my Predictions" Meade mathematically wins. Basically it will come down to the back brackets this year. This Region is going to be very fun to watch this weekend. Overall, the Team who wants it the most will walk away with the Regional Title this Year. I wish all Teams the best of luck.

They scarrredddd.

So let me be first to say i was wrong. The shifts weren't as big as i heard. Actually if anything i think everyone will most likely go back to their original weights since sheffer beat Johnson. I am assuming Johnson will remain at 145. Almost assured a State title at that weight.

6 minutes ago, Granby said:Sorry, for like I said, I didn't want to get anyone mad and I appreciate Lindsay willing to host, I would have just felt bad knowing what I saw and not sharing. Kids may have grandparents attending and I would have felt bad not asking for everyone.
Ever since I found out the venues I had planned on bringing a folding chairs just in case. This old body wouldn't do to well standing for 8-10-12 hours.
We (X) wrestled Union two years ago in Large vs. Small School after it was all said and done. We got there at 9:00 AM and left at about 10:00 PM!!!!! Good times but I was up in the stands doing nothing but watching and I was beat. LOL.
The gym is a gym, so your good there. Just wanted to find out about seating in the Wellness Center.
Hopefully Coach can let us know so everyone can be prepared.
No, I fully appreciate you letting us know. Not mad just surprised they would not foreworn the Teams that there may be limited seating. We are in the same boat. I have Grandparents and Disabled Parents attending too. At least now I can also get them prepared just in case there is limited seating. I am sure it will all turn out just fine. Just may be a little cramped that's all. Do you know if concessions will be available by any chance? I may have to let them (Spectators) Know to bring something to eat too if the breaks are short.

31 minutes ago, Granby said:Thanks Coach.
I understand it now. Caveat to all attending, unless something has changed for this event, the Wellness Center didn't have any bleachers last time I was down there.
At least not large bleachers but the small aluminum bleachers you would find at a little league baseball field.
During Team Kentucky practices, they were hosting large volleyball tournaments and parents and spectators were standing against the walls.
Not trying to start anything here, for like I said I do not know the setup, but can you confirm if they have installed some bleachers in the Wellness Center or should we bring fold-up chairs? Crowding around the mat in a fold-up chair is fine by me. Right by the action!!!
Is this for real!!! Possibly no seating? This has to be a joke right?????? Plus $10 to get in and I may have to stand. Please validate they will have seating. If not please ley us know so we can bring our own chairs at least. Thanks in advance.

Some Parents are inquiring about Spectator cost for the State Duals. Does anybody know?

I have heard some pretty big moves going on in LaRue County, one big name wrestler quit. Another is out for the season. Who knows though, like you said I didn't hear it from the horses mouth.

I rather not say because I have not heard it directly from the Coaches themselves. Only what I have seen, read and heard second hand. I have been corrected in the past on other issues. That’s why I'm just going to sit back and watch wrestlers play musical chairs while I eat my popcorn. I can almost bet you will have 2 to 4 wrestlers standing next to the Scorers tables prior to certain matches seeing who steps/checks in on the mat first. I am assuming it’s going to be congested sometimes at the table. I already feel for the table workers. LOL…

30 minutes ago, Wky said:Keep hearing John Hardin is going to do some dropping , we should know Saturday
From what I have heard and seen its not only them. You can add about 2 more teams to that.
-
I've been told "shshhhhh" in a prior forum. But anyways, I would recommend you relook at this on Sunday. I can almost guarantee you will see some major shifts in about 5 different weight classes on Saturday at State Duals. who knows how this will finally end up at regional seeding. I can already see the infighting happening. Time to sit back and eat the popcorn and enjoy the show........

Well it looks like I was wrong. K Shantz may be returning. not sure when. Will have to see if he is in Meads line up this weekend. That's what I get for not hearing it from the horses mouth myself. I apologize if I caused any one any heart burn.

Congrats to Larue for taking the Regional 2 Title. They were able to run off with it after the fourth round of matches. Meade just could not keep pace this year and John Hardin was not far behind. Congrats to all the Individual Winners in each weight class and am looking forward to see them all at State. I would have to say this was probably the best Regional Match up I have see in the past 6 years. There were a few dog fights this year and the whole gym was rocking for a few of the matches. Once again congrats for to Larue And Meade for coming 1 and 2 and all the Champions in their weight class. You all put on a show the past 2 days.
