Region 1 will Air Assault in from the roof in military gear, representing the heritage of the 101st Screaming Eagles. Or Combines celebrating the farming heritage of the western part of the state. Region 2 can come in on Tanks.

I like the idea of rotating the venue between Lexington, Louisville, Northern KY, Richmond, Bowling Green and maybe even Morehead, Owensboro, Murray. I think All state sports championships should rotate if the facilities and hotel accommodations would support it.

They split this year Elkins won the last one. would like to see Miller get through Smallwood and Lannum and meet him again. I know Lannum and Smallwood are both really good, but BJ is my son, got to pull for him.

Not all the brackets in region one were 8 man, 5 were. Region 6 had 4. Region 6 averaged only 1 more wrestler per bracket.

I am very proud of OC. I know just about every team can say they same thing, but I just love the hearts and attitudes of those young men. It is a character building sport for the kids, but I have grown and learned from the team as well.

He had a great year. Excited to see what he does next week. All kids need to let those losses make them better and not hang their head. Keep their heads up and focus on a positive outcome.

I was really proud of the way BJ Miller wrestled this tournament. Of course he lost to Brock Ervin, but other than that I thought he looked really strong. Probably one of his best tournaments. Hope he will carry that momentum into next weekend.

But kids live so far away from that school at it is sometimes difficult for families to get their kids to and from practices, and there are no schools and gyms to go to for higher level instruction like a Carr Gym or Gyms in Louisville and greater Cincinnati area. Plus you have to travel so far just to get a match. Not too many good matches during the week, just weekend tourney's. I agree the middle school feeders may help, but larger cities have a lot better club wrestling and off season wrestling opportunities.

I like seeing the rural county schools do well. I think it is so much harder for them to put a complete team together.

Nothing wrong with being a homer, you see the work that gets put in and your proud of your kids and try to encourage them. We always want the best for our own and we should think during a close match our kids will get the edge and win. I would love to see Sapp get in the finals and come out on top in a great match between him and Saul. I think both Miller and Bunch do work and make the top 4. I think everyone is overlooking Easterling and what he did to Stevens at Ft Knox, he's for real and can win 195. Farris and carter should be a good match with Farris winning. And if Schaffer comes in with a little confidence and is aggressive he can make the HVY WT finals. Yes I am a homer too, Ohio Co will have 4 in the finals all with a great chance to win, and 6 will make it to Lexington.

Who wins this region, Lafayette or Henry Clay? Will Wayne be in the mix?

I watched the Beeler Austin match this year at Sectional Duels. It was the first week or so that Austin had wrestled and he handeled Beeler pretty easy. I agree Beeler should finish in the top 6 or so but is a small step behind the top 3 or 4 at 126. I am really not sure why he left 120, he could have maybe made the finals in that weight class.

How many days are like Friday and Sat of State Tournament? Just two, the Fri and Sat of state tournament. My point is yes it's hard work for those who put on the tourney, but it's one weekend and the kids, coaches, and parents who have put in all the hard days and tourneys all year deserve to have the best experience no matter what it takes. Let's not loose focus, it is all about the kids and never should be about nothing else.

Where are they getting these ideas from? What do other states do? I never been to state finals other than KY.

Bumstead is 100% correct. The only voice they will listen to is the voice of the dollar. This could really be a step back to our sport here in KY.
