  1. I thought Blanton wrestled awesome ...i thought kohl Dodd wrestled amazing to win the 195s. meiman did his thing and wrestled his style to win his 2nd title. Frank rone is a beast and Atm put on a show with the kick outs and take downs just shows how dominant he really is

Hope you all watched his last high school match . He's a once in a lifetime kind of wrestler.

  2. I think SuperNat did an awesome job..my only changes would be Barton winning 152's and Miller but you say tomato I say tomato...you get the drift....I do think Mamadov and Gage Jones will be a great 2nd round match up and a huge match up in the 182's is Cornet vs Frankrone that match could possibly screw up a lot of brackets lol....I give Frankrone the edge but... Cornet is smart and will be a great match much like Courtney vs Frankrone last year in the 182's ..Miozza and Miller also will be very good in 195's....Woolf vs Macintosh also should be good but the above matches I think will be awesome along with Hamedian vs Farris in the 220's is a championship match up to see who ultimately faces Doomsday or Superman you can pick your name :-). Good luck all. Will be a fun day. From 145 down I just don't know that much so I'll leave the others to break them down.

  3. I wouldn't say Woolf is the favorite in 170's ..I'd give a slight edge to Macintosh but look out for Lawson as my sleeper to win 170's ..Meiman 160's ..Frankrone 182's

Miozza and Miller will be a good match Dodd should coast to the finals in 195s. Look for a region 6 rematch in the 220's with Hamedian and Myers.

  4. Ok this isn't a team prediction but I predict region 6 (220's) top 2 will finish state champ and runner up in ATM (champ) yes I know really going on a limb there lol but I do think the runner up Hamedian from Boone will finish runner up at state as well.

  5. I kinda like the 195s this year with miller from Simon and Miozza and algeier..and Dodd could sneak in and win the whole thing.I like the HamadIan kid from boone ...very well could be a runner up in the 220s...in the 182s I like Frankrone alot he just seems to be not as dominate as he should be like if he had Matthews or some others work effort he could be a Fargo AA...jmho but then again he is a state champion ...I just thought he was so dominate at the state last year. I shouldn't say anything about his work ethic and you're right I have never seen him practice and I know he's had injuries.

  6. Yes but the regional champs and runner ups are automatically on the opposite sides of the bracket so technically they are seeded a little bit.

I've always thought that track record meaning on how they did in the state last year) should also come into play when seeding i.e. example Matthews at 182 and Frankrone should automatically be places in opposite sides of the bracket because they were the state finalists last year.

But it's a useless point because the state tournament won't ever be seeded because no sport is.

State tournament still a great time though. Upsets happen every year and what a great couple of days of wrestling it is.

Wouldn't trade it for any other sports championship.

  7. Not sure if this is the ideal place to post this but for the love of wrestling I'll start it here and mods can move it if necessary.

NKU has started a wrestling club and team for students attending NKU it's NOT to late to check it out. I believe they will be allowing high school students to wrestle with them at some open practices that they will have. Dates for this will be announced soon.

Another important note is that if you attend a college that does not have a wrestling club you can join NKU'S team ! Example Austin Jackson attends Gateway

    but wrestles on NKU'S team.

The wrestling club is a huge college wrestling program/club and not just something thrown together. It has a formal website NCWA.NET with full results-rankings of each school and individual rankings. They have regular meets and tournaments that are sanctioned. They have a conference tournament and if you qualify for national NKU will pay for you to go !

Some wrestlers that are currently wrestling for NKU are Boone Countys- Braden Jones, Sam Steele and Joey Shipman and Dixie's Austin Jackson just to name a few. Check there first win out on the website ncwa.net under results as they defeated Defiance University and gave University of Toledo a strong test.

Feel free to message me for any information and I'll put you in touch with the guys at NKU or message Braden Jones on facebook . Thanks to all.

  8. I've been around since the David Barnes days and I've never seen anyone more dominant than Austin. I know there's a couple of monsters at 220 in Indiana that I would like to see Austin wrestle in a match  but I think there seniors and are going Division 1 football. I mean really there's no one in KY that can challenge him and he's won everything from Nationals to Ohio tourneys and everything in between. Not to mention from standing beside him for a minute at the horsepark he's grown physically and with his work ethic could be an ncaa national champion. I look forward to watching matches oh him in college. I wish him and Sephen and his dad only the best of luck... Remember they've had to feed him all these years lol....He defines beast and just like FCHS said we all will be glad we saw this kid wrestle in high school because he has major things in front of him and I'm glad he's a Kentuckian. My only question would be will he wrestle 197 in college or heavy and I think that's yet to be determined because the kid keeps getting bigger and stronger. I wish him only the best.....

Glad I saw Boston and Brock wrestle as well as they are flawless in technique. but I just feel Austin is a very very rare breed.

  9. Well ... My 2 year run defending chamionship is over .. although I still had the most correct champions ... 11 out of 14... :D....but easily the winner is  Hardwork15 .... missed 4 but they were lower number picks.. so congrats to you !!!!!! FCHS send them the same prizes I won the last 2 years lol........ Fun as always.... Great tournament.. Congrats to all participants, wrestlers , coaches and champions ......!

  10. See these are very good. Only major difference is leaton from oldham at 182 . He's pinned shacklet 3 times and leaton has a pretty nice draw to face shacklet again and that's a huge if shacklet gets past ricsh from Dixie . Awesome job

    yep risch...pinned your number 4 ......

  11. I like your predictions... There realstic and pretty good....... The 182's are a 4 horse race except that Frankrone has been on fire majoring Mathews  and beating Smith ......Matthews has to get past Smith in quarters which is not a great match up for him but anything can happen. I'm like you tough anything could happen in this bracket and just a tid bit of knowledge but Leaton of Oldham County beat Frankrone

The 195's I also like 4 guys the same way as 82's Darius Parrot is very good... I see him as the favorite .... I actually see Devin Morrow getting to the finals..... but in any case I would never count out Thompson or Miller ...... If Thompson goes beast mode he could get hot and roll and win the whole thing and so could Miller.

170'S Meiman and Turner  recap of the region 6 final ..... That match was unreal.... As good as Ryder is I don't feel he can touch Turner in my opinion.. Ryder actually matches up better against Meiman .... Meiman has a burst of strength that I learned about in the regional.. Down 2 with under 5 seconds and losing to Turner by 1 ..Meiman somehow out of no where  picked up Turner and layed down a serious body slam... I thought I was at a WWE match for a second.. but I saw Turners eyes and he was watching the clock count down as opposed to wrestling and just somehow clinching Meiman ... I'm sure Turner wishes he had those 5 seconds back.. what a match though....

I like the Lawson kid from Nelson County he seems like he is on a mission...  Saw him wrestle and condition for 2.5 hours at a college workout and he's tough and I believe he will beat Young.....

106 I like Hurst to win.....but he's an Ervin your right enough said.....

We're pretty close on about every weight class
