    I'm not for sure how you define "centrally located", but here is a brief look in terms of population.  The state of Kentucky has 4,339,367 people according to the 2010 census. Out of those 4.3 million people, 1,266,454 live in the Louisville Metropolitan Statistical Area. In the Louisville Metropolitan Statistical Area 269,096 people actually live in Indiana so if those people are removed then 997,358 people are KY residents in the Louisville Metropolitan Statistical Area. That comes out to 23.0% of the population who live in the LouisvilleMSA alone.

    Since you advocate for Lexington in your post I will use the Lexington-Fayette-Frankfort-Richmond, KY Combined Statistical Area (a very large region geographically) for population numbers. In that CSA there are 685,419 people. That comes out to 15.8% of the population.

    We could further consider the top 10 cities in the state of Kentucky population wise that aren't already included and see which city they are geographically closer to.

    1. Louisville - Included in the Louisville MSA

    2. Lexington - Included in the Lexington CSA

    3. Bowling Green - Closer to Louisville

    4. Owensboro - Closer to Louisville

    5. Covington -Closer to Lexington

    6. Richmond - Included in the Lexington CSA

    7. Hopkinsville - Closer to Louisville

    8. Henderson - Closer to Louisville

    9. Florence - Closer to Lexington

    10. Frankfort - Included in the Lexington CSA

    As you see. Of the six cities not already included four of them are closer to Louisville by more than 50 miles. The two that are closer to Lexington are only so by a mere 15 miles. 

    This is by no means a definitive study---but I think it's pretty clear that your original statement is false. When speaking in terms of population, Louisville is more centrally located than the Lexington.

    I have seen a previous year STATE FINAL MATCH, happen the next year in the QUARTERS!!!! No way that should have happend, but it did

    So you are saying we should fix the state tournament with the finals matches being pre-planned? I think this mentality is garbage. The kids who make it to the finals deserve to be in the finals. POINT BLANK PERIOD! IF a kid deserves to be in the finals he will make it happen on his own, not because someone mapped the brackets out so his toughest competition is on the opposite side of the bracket.

    Wish Frank was not a sr A will have to battle S a lot again CC has some decent bigger Fresh A has a lot of friends to go with he has quite an array of athletes from various sports he trains with , plans on checking out the Ascend club in Louisville along with his buddies he has some 8th grade friends that are monsters . And CC seems to have a cool hvy coach and some x coaches that roll with Austin who can handle him .....for a now ....!

    Campbell Countys HWT coach used to coach down here in region 1. Great guy and decent wrestler.

    And just HOW did they do it? People need to get over it. KHSAA released the kids. The kids sat and watched practice for almost 2 weeks before they were released. It is ridiculous to think that Mike Bankemper went and grabbed these kids off the "streets" and had them enroll at CCHS and know they would be released. KHSAA could have released them sooner and chose not too.

    I would also like to add, no one (wrestler wise) at CCHS had a problem with these 2 joining the team UNTIL Stephen beat the Bachman kid. It is funny how this all blew up after that.

    People need to grow up. If people have a problem with someone have a problem with the KHSAA not the kids who are innocent in all of this. These kids (not just the Myers boys) have worked their tails off this whole year and to be booed is about as ridiculous as anything. Grow up people!

    Couldnt Agree more. The race for team title is going to be tough. I still haven't seen any proof that Campbell county is the front runner. According to ranger Larue is going to win.

    wow, how did grant Co get blessed with 3 state champ move ins ,,,, there must be recruiting going on,,,,,,,,,,lol just teaseing guys

    Speed is at graves not grant. Just to clarify. The kid is a solid wrestler. Watched him at regionals.

    I heard that there is not going to be a hospitality room for coaches this year? I got the impression that it's the arena that won't allow it. Anybody know if it's true or what's up with that?

    The hospitality room for state has always been awful anyway. I think we should implement region rotations for taking care of the hospitality room.

    We can't even get Region brackets early so we can give some predictions.....Are we that far behind as a state that we can't get the brackets...Go to Indiana's website and see all the Semi-State brackets......Rankings weekly and NO drama plus a countdown clock to State....It amazes me we can't get GOOD info out there on this site.....mostly heresay and drama.....Come on KENTUCKY coaches and powers to be....it's time to catch up with the rest of the country !!!! Totally amazed we can't get results or any decent info at all it seems ! Just my opinion here......and we all know about opinions !

    If I'm not mistaken this site is ran by a coach and few moderators. I'm sure indiana's is run by the state. KHSAA is not big on wrestling it seems or THEY would be doing this. I don't think it's fair that you blame the operator of a forum based site for the lacksidasical amount of wrestling coverage via brackets, countdown clock etc. with that being said, purchase a domain name and create a site or quit whining about it not being up to your standards.

    All I am saying is that since He has been betrayed by his team then he needs not go out of his way for the team itself. I also said HOPE, not that he was told to do so.

    As you well know Handcontrol Mr. Bankemper did not allow a kid to wrestle regions last year after winning a wrestle off because he did not work hard in practice. He did this to sent a message to the kids that if you don't work hard for the team you will not be on the team. I disagreed with this move but remained quite about it. A similar think happened 2 years ago with a wrestle off but you were not there. (Also involvling my son)

    Now he is making the opposite decision. I also pointed out that it will be unfair to the 160, 182 (a second time) and possibly the 195. No matter what happens next the betrayal has occured and things will never be the same again.

    All in all my greivence has been said and the outcome over. My hope is that I will get to see my son wrestle another match this year. And hopefully next year (if this has not soured him) He has already said I wish the season was over already?

    I hope that no-one else will ever have to see a 17 year olds dreams dashed by betrayal. It is one of the hardest things you will ever have to witness as a parent.

    I have told him if this is the worst thing that ever happens to you be grateful. There are many other things that are much, much worse. As a parent however it is devestating, our entire home has been affect by this.

    How are his dreams dashed? Just curious, because you just said that he could wrestle for the 160 spot.

    His thoughts may not have been directly on a state title. His thoughts were he thought i would be easier to handle than Papa Meyers.

    As stated by another, I am doing just what Papa Meyers has done fight for my kid.

    To show my support to my kid I feel that I must make a stand and draw a line in the sand. I now must follow through and I have personally broken all ties with campbell county wrestling. I know this is not a huge loss for the team but its my only coarse of action left. My son cannot go 145 and it is way to late to transfer schools.

    As i told Mr. Bankemper, If I could remove my name from the banners hanging in the gym now I would do so.

    Now Kent must go 160 and maybe take a spot from another hard working wrestler, who then may go up and take a spot from someone else. This in no way makes for good team chemistry. My hopes is that if Kent does wrestle 160 or any weight. That any matches that he can possibly win he will win by 7 or less so as not to gain extra team points.

    Wow! That last part to your comment is absurd. I can't believe that a parent would say that. And, well, a former coach! CC might be relieved that you cut all ties with an attitude like yours BL.
