  1. We are seeking a few additional teams.

The 2014 Brawl in the Hall will be held on Saturday January 4, 2012.

In 2013 the Brawl in the Hall hosted 18 teams from Tennessee and Virginia. Among our top four place winners, there were 26 state qualifiers and 13 state place winners including two state champions and three runners-up. The 2013 Team Champion, Ravenwood, placed third in the Tennessee Division I State Tournament.

The Brawl in the Hall is being held at Bristol’s Viking Hall. This is one of the premier facilities in this area for wrestling events. With seating for over 6,000, there will be plenty of space for teams and spectators to get comfortable. Our live match and scoring system will be available online. Concessions and apparel vendors will be available all day. This tournament will be a great opportunity for your wrestlers to see some different, high quality competition.

We will run a pool system where winners of each pool are entered into the gold bracket to wrestle for 1st-4th. Second place from each pool will wrestle for 5th-8th places. All wrestlers will receive at least three matches and place winners will get five.

Our finals will be showcased on one mat with finalist introductions.

If you are interested in attending or have any questions please contact Coach Marshall at tmarshall7@btes.tv or 423-340-1900.

    Thank You,

    Tim Marshall

  3. Due to scheduling conflicts with our facility this year, we are considering moving our youth tournament to a Sunday. I know there are very few tournaments scheduled in this area on Sundays and would like to get thoughts and input and projected attendance. Would you come on a Sunday? Why are there no Sunday tournaments in this area? Any other issues you forsee with a Sunday tournament? Sunday tournaments are common in the Northeast and Midwest and regularlly draw good numbers.

We have developed a great tournament system, we have a great facility, and, according to many who have attended, run one of the most efficient tournaments around. Our goal is to set a date so that we are not competing with other tournaments but we are very limited in our facility availabliity on Saturdays.

Also thoughts on AAU, USA, or independent sanctioned tournaments--does it matter?

    Any feedback is appreciated.

  4. Tennessee High is looking for more teams to participate in Brawl in the Hall on January 5th, 2013 in Bristol, TN. In the past we've had top teams from TN, VA, NC and expect to expand. Our goal is 20 teams this year. This is a great opportunity to face different competition.

Viking Hall is one of the best facilities in the area to host a wrestling tournament--plenty of seating for teams and spectators. We will have an outstanding hospitality room for coaches.

    Email: tmarshall7@btes.tv for more information.

The event will again be held at Bristol's Viking Hall Civic Center, a 20,000 sq ft facility with space for up to 8 mats and stadium style seating for over 6,000.
