    seeding the state tournament

I think Kentucky needs to follow the same format as Tennessee. Put all your region winners in as your seeding breaking up your state medalists. The medalists would be your "Seeded" wrestlers. Then go through and put 1 vs. 4; 2 vs 3. If you wrestler who is a former state medalist and lose in the region finals against someone than they will be put against a 2 vs. 3 and if they advance to the second round they will have to face a returning medalist. This method would work perfectly in my opinion. makes for exciting wrestling.

Best wrestler never to win a state championship?

Fort Campbell was a beast back in the 70s and early 80s. They were competitive in the 90s.. But not anywhere near Hoptown and Christian County. Id say the best wrestler I have seen at Fort Campbell to not win state are: Both Campbell brothers, Nate Johnson, Matt Mines, Buttranger (had so much potential but was lazy) Zach Rhinestine and one who should of placed but got screwed by the body fat testing, Robbie Sahms from this past year. I know of some guys from the early 90s but I can not remember names. I have watched old film from districts of some awesome guys from Western KY.

Memorial tournament June 12 in TN

Jacob Jordan Memorial Wrestling Tournament Saturday - June 12, 2010 DEADLINE FOR ENTRY: MAY 14, 2010 - NO WALK UPS! Harpeth High School - Kingston Springs Officials across Middle Tennessee have confirmed they will donate their services for this event. Now we just need wrestlers to step up and support the memory of our fellow wrestler Jacob Jordan. The Wrestling Family across the Region needs to step up and be apart of this worthy cause. The purpose of this tournament is to raise money for the family of Jacob Jordan, the Creek Wood High School wrestler who was killed earlier this week. Jacob was the son of Creek Wood Wrestling Head Coach Mick Hambrick. We, as his wrestling family, need to come together to support Mick and his family as they are in need of assistance to help cover the costs involved with Jacob's funeral. Memorial funds are being established but that is just small drop of what will be needed. We have committed officials who will be donating their services, so all proceeds from the event will go directly to the family. We also will need volunteers to help with concessions, hospitality and gate. We are in need of food and drink donations as well for both concessions and hospitality. Anything that you can offer is greatly appreciated. No gift or donation is too small or too large. We have scheduled the tournament to allow it to fit inside the 15 day TSSAA window. So coaches can bring their teams as if this were a spring warm up session. We have established a deadline of May 14, 2010. This is firm deadline. We need to have ever wrestler in Middle Tennessee involved with this event. AWARDS: Top Four In Each Weight Class BEST MATCH (OPEN, HIGH SCHOOL, MIDDLE SCHOOL, ELEMENTARY SCHOOL) STYLE: Folkstyle - Double-Elimination COST: $20 Per Wrestler Wrestling Divisions: High School Division, Grades 9-12 & 12-OPEN (Current 2010 Seniors): 103, 112, 119, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 152, 160, 171, 189, 215, 285. What are your thoughts of starting a separate division like Tennessee has?? Obviously it will not be a big in the first year but the 2nd yr could be huge. What are your thoughts?

    Girls wrestling

Have them wrestle with the guys.. I have worked with girl wrestlers since I was a sophomore in high school.. (my sister wrestled and went on to Uni. of the Cumberlands for a semester to wrestle) They will work as hard or harder then the best wrestlers on your team. I would say run a couple tournaments along with the varsity trny.

2011 State Tournament Will Be @ Frankfort Again

I have seen the venue in Corbin and it is really nice. I do not agree with putting the state in 2 days, but the 6 mats would be the main priority. I came from Tennessee where 6 mats covered the UTC Arena and did great. KY had just over 4K fans watching the tourny. I think Corbin would be the best fit. I know it is all about $$$$. Consessions............I think I can speak for everyone in the state that it was bad.
