High School Nationals Wrestling Championship
April 1-5 Grades 9, 10, 11, 12 Virginia Beach Convention Center
Because of the no contact rule in KY, I (Avery Zerkle) have been asked ,again this year, by several parents to help prepare their wrestler for this upcoming event. I also plan to attend the tournament as well as help coach the kids. In preparation for the tournament I plan to hold practice the first four Sundays in March. These practices will be very intense and consist of 10-15 wrestlers that are training to obtain an All-American status at this tournament.
If you are interested please contact me ASAP so that I can reserve a spot for you. For coaching purposes, at the tournament, one coach can only manage 6-8 wrestlers. I have asked my assistant coach, Matt Koz to help with the training and coaching for this years events. So, a group of 12-16 wrestlers would work well for a great training environment and personal attention at the tournament.

This includes 4 training sessions, weight management plans, and coaching during tournament. This cost will also help cover my expenses for the trip: Flight $250, 4 nights hotel $500, coaches pass $100, food and misc. $100.

Great room last night in both groups. Just over 50 kids. The word is getting out so we are getting new wrestlers each practice. The Jr. high/ HS group had 7 state placers last night. If you need to get great intense workouts, come on in. Look forward to seeing you soon.

The Golden Cross Wrestling Club has been in session for 2 weeks now at Cincinnati La Salle High School. There are currently 48 wrestlers registered. No matter what grade, weight, or talent level, we have something to offer. We are getting new elementary kids every week now that football is over. We will also have a Jr. High team that will compete together this year.

There has been a date change for this Pre-Season Camp. The date has been moved to Nov. 14-16 because of facility use. I was informed that the cafeteria would not be available and the dates to revamp the wrestling room have been moved back. Sorry if this is an inconvenience for anyone. I have personally contacted everyone that all ready pre-registered.

This camp is designed to get all wrestlers physically and mentally prepared for the wrestling season. It will cover basic to advanced techniques from all positions in wrestling. This camp will concentrate on instilling the technique learned through intense drilling and live wrestling. Please come to the camp ready to work hard. Hard work is what it takes to reach your goals and take your wrestling to the next level.
All Golden Cross Wrestling Camps are open to anyone from K-12th grade. There will be numerous coaches and counselors that will be assigned to different age and skill levels to ensure a quality camp for every wrestler. This camps are limited to 50 wrestlers. Get your application in ASAP for a guaranteed spot.

La Salle's LITTLE LANCERS Wrestling Club
We have been working to revamp the La Salle Little Lancers Wrestling program. Our goal is to invite and include all young athletes in the Cincinnati are to be apart of our program. We do not have any boundaries or prerequisites. Any child that is in K-6th grade is welcome to be apart of our wrestling club. The Little Lancers Wrestling Club's goals are introduce and develop wrestling skills in all of our members whether they are beginners or novices. All members will also be taught how to have a good attitude, good sportsmanship, hard work and discipline, along with many other quality traits.
We are currently working on the little details for the club. We plan to join the Cinn. Youth Wrestling Association. Joining the association will help to keep us organized and in the loop with all of the other local team and tournaments. We plan to have practice twice a week. There will be two age groups when practicing. The k-3rd graders will practice first then the 4-6th graders will practice. Each wrestler will compete in about 20 matches. The season starts in early December and ends in mid February. We are not yet sure about the cost to participate but, it will be comparable to other pee wee programs in the area.
The coaching staff at this point consists of: Rick Back, Jeff Rocky, Randy Davis, Chris Kiley. There will always be a need for more coaches and volunteers. So, if you want your name on this list we can add it at any time. This is general info. We will have all of the details for you at sign-ups.

From South: I-75 North to I-74 West. Take the Cheviot/North Bend Road Exit. Turn right off exit onto North Bend Road. At the 2nd traffic light North Bend Road makes a turn to the right - stay on North Bend Road. La Salle is on the right approximately 1/4 mile.
All practices will take place in the De La Salle Athletic Center behind the school. Park behind the school and enter the De La Salle Athletic Center's main entrance. Go down one set of stairs to wrestling room on left.

The practice for Tuesday 16th is canceled due to no electric at the school. We will resume on Sunday 21st. We have been praying for all of those without electric. Please be safe.

Golden Cross Pre-Season Club- at Cincinnati La Salle High School
This club is designed for the committed wrestler K-12th grade who wants to reach their full potential. It is hard for the committed wrestler to find good pre-season workout partners and intense practices. This club will allow you to training with other top notch wrestlers through intense drilling and live wrestling week after week to prepare you for the upcoming season. Each practice will physically and mentally challenge you no matter what level you are at. If you are serious about reaching your goals for this upcoming season, this club is for you! Extra practices like these is what it takes to move ahead of the competition.
We had a great pre-season group last year consisting of numerous state placers and several state champs! Come and be apart of the great talent.
I have decided not to have practice on Thursdays due to the extensive traveling that I will be doing for my Pre-Season Clinics. I will have to leave on Thursdays for most of them. I am also in the transition of house selling/buying and moving.

I wanted to let everyone know that we have added Friday night to our open mats. We are now having open mat on Wed. and Fri. at 7:00pm. Park behind the school and enter the main door of the De La Salle building. Numbers and talent have been great! There have been numerous wrestlers from KY attending. We expect over 50 wrestlers on Friday.

Dear Wrestling Enthusiast,
The Athletic Department at La Salle High School is excited to announce that Mr. Avery Zerkle is our new Head Wrestling Coach. Avery is a graduate of national wrestling powerhouse St. Paris Graham High School. Graham has won 8 straight state titles and very recently crowned the 2008 National High School Champions.
As a competitor, Avery was a 2 time State Placer, a State Champion and an All-American at Graham. He is a graduate of Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania where he was a 2 time NCAA Division I National Qualifier. After graduation, Avery coached at Graham for five years. For the past two years he has been the head coach at Springboro High School.
Coach Zerkle is anxious to get to work at La Salle. We want to give you an opportunity to meet him on Thursday, May 29 at 7:00pm in the gym. We want everyone who is linked with La Salle wrestling to be there! Please invite all family members, friends, alumni, boosters and anyone who is interested! At that time, coach will outline his program and aspirations for La Salle Wrestling and will answer questions you may have.

Wrestling Community,
The La Salle Athletic Department and I would like to inform the wrestling community that I have accepted the head wrestling coach position at La Salle High School. We are all very excited about building one of the premiere programs in Cincinnati.
I also want to personally thank the administration, families, boosters and wrestlers in the Springboro wrestling family. With a lot of support and hard work we made some great strides in the program. I wish everyone the best of luck. I am confident that new wrestling coach will be surrounded with great support and talented wrestlers.
At La Salle, our goal is to build a national level program. This will take some time and much effort. We are looking for quality individuals, coaches, boosters and anyone that is interested in being apart of building a first class program. We are going to make a year round commitment to the kids at all levels. I will also be moving my entire Golden Cross Wrestling System to LaSalle High School. All practices, clubs, camps and private lessons will be held in the De La Salle Center behind the school. Out of town camps will not be moved such as the Maysville camps.

I am starting to receive numerous applications for the Maysville, Ky camp. If you are at all interested you need to send in your application soon. There are a limited number of spots for both dates to ensure for a personalized intense camp. If you have any questions please call any time or visit my web page. Also, If you have a wrestler that is 6th grade and younger the Youth Intensive camp is a great option. It was packet with talent last summer.

I have had several calls about the Maysville Camp. Maysville is in Mason County adjacent to the river. The camp will be held at the residence of Matt, Korey Shotwell. The kids will eat, sleep, wrestle all at this facility. We will have room for 2-3 full mats with shower and bathroom facilities. The campers will have 3 all you can eat meals each day. We will take good care of them all.
We are limiting the numbers to 25-30 wrestlers per camp date to ensure a quality personalized camp setting. These camps will be packed with talent. I have 8-10 state placers that have already inquired about the camp. I also touched base with several quality programs throughout the state that are interested in sending their top notch kids.
If you want an intense personalized camp packed with talent this is the one. Dont miss out!
