So, the line ups are in and the brackets will be built after some changes that have come in late. It's going to be a packed house and a barn burner of a day with an average of almost 20 kids per weight class.

There was definitely some good wrestling this past weekend at CC. CC is going to be tough for any team to handle. No doubt lining up for their 4th State tourney title in a row.

Logistically speaking NKY might be easier to get some of these teams into KY, however, you have to be willing to ask for some of these teams to come to your tournament well in advance of the season due to a lot of power teams having their schedules set in March. Also, the individuals have to have an idea of what they want their tourney to be like. Do you just want it to be a tourney that fills a date for you, so your team doesn't have to travel or do you want to make it the baddest, toughest tourney to test your team? Who knows what your motives are, but IMO, if you are going to run a tourney you might as well work hard to bring in the best competition possible, run a very tight event with little to no delays, have an awesome hospitality room, arrange hotel discounts for your teams that have to travel, have great awards and bring in the best officials you can . If you can do this then your tourney will get better and better and teams will hear about your tourney and want to come back year in and year out. It's not rocket science by any means, but you have to have a group of individuals that want the same thing...not just one person. I know you know this, but tough teams seek out tough competition.

So, in order to beat SPG, a team has to be able to win the remaining 8 weight classes or find some way to knock off one or two of these seven studs. Ahhh, it's going to be a barn burner of a day. Personally, I don't see anyone handing the top spots over to these boys before the tourney begins, however, everyone is going to have their hands full with the talent that steps on the mat on 12/8. PinAndWin - Thanks for taking a stab at it. I'm curious to see if SPG comes in and performs as billed or if Lake Cath, Nash Cath or Mater Dei can pull it out the top spot and give them a run for their money. I wouldn't be surprised if Jeffersonville, In pulls out the top spot though. They are very tough. Blennerhasset was the 2012 WV State Champs and then you have CC as State Champs also. I'm curious to see how the KY teams, as a whole, performs against these teams and is able to bring home some hardware. It is a great thing to put up KY's best against some of surrounding states best. You have to beat the best to be the best....right? Mpire - I think SPG Middle did just fine winning 4 tourney's that I saw last year with 3 State Champs and 8 placers last season. Not bad.

It's going to be a hammer tourney for sure. Anyone care to throw out the top teams in order from 1-15? Just curious.

Can I just say....Wow! This has got to be one of the most entertaining threads I have read in a long time. Now, it looks like Rumble Royal number whatever is about to start. Mr. Binder...I can't see you winning that match. You might need to find a good tag team partner.

I know there are many camps out there that teach different things, but I haven't seen a camp or system like Jordan's teaches, that pounds drilling the moves that they teach so much. What a great thing to watch if you haven't done so already. Yes, I agree that you have to drill and drill often to become proficient, and develop muscle memory, however, you have to learn or be taught the move to be able to drill it somewhere and you have to be able to test your achieved skill somewhere to see if your getting it. Camps or Tournaments? Still a combination of both in my mind....add in Drilling and you have a tough trio to beat.

The combination of the two is always going to be the ticket, in my mind. Kids get to see new stuff and grow and learn with camps and then they get to use what they have learned in tournaments that aren't pressure filled like during the season. They get to have fun and get better without feeling any consequences.

That's crazy money, but I'd take the $250k that Jordan and Jake will make from winning the gold. They may not make $90 mil, but I don't think they'll be hurting any time soon.

Mason Smith You know who I'm talking about. I agree with you. Not sure if many kids in KY are putting in the time and effort Mason is.

Mpire - I will have to say that I have read your posts from the first one and I see that you are still very passionate about you're kids, but you have evolved your posts to be more contructive and positve over that time and I for one, like it. Keep them coming because I know you will.

Looks like Cooper won his round 6 match over Blayne Briceno (California) by fall. Not sure how big his bracket is but he has to be getting close to the AA round.

Just watched Sean pull off a great win at the end of his third match on themattv. It's awesome. Great win Sean and good luck in the 4th round.

I am looking forward to another State Tourney this year at the Horsepark. I hope they change the floor situation. I know we are in KY and all, but the dirt that came through to the mats has got to go. Who puts down a perforated floor to cover the dirt and not expect that it won't come through to the mats? This isn't beach wrestling. Other than that, I think raising the mats for the finals is a great idea and continuing to make the finals a spectacle is a great thing for this sport in KY. -
