Woodford Co. does dominate region 7. They did not dominate TC yesterday.

Bill Semones was at 215 for Woodford Co. at the Region 7 duals and weighed in at about 205 so he may be there for awhile.

That was the second time Woodford had been put in that position and they certainly did not dominate Tates Creek. Woodford Co. is still the best team but the margin has lessened in the last couple of years.

Brandon Abney pinned John Anderson at Region 7 duals and Jacob Soard (TC) beat Mark Davis of Western Hills at 171.

I was hoping we could compile a list all of the meets going on today, I haven't had the opportunity to watch any wrestling this year and I'd like to go today. Anything within a reasonable distance from Lexington?

The more and more I look at the rankings the more I think Woodford Co. may be the team to beat come Region 7 time. I think that some unranked wrestlers will really have to step it up in order for Harrison/Henry Clay/Tates Creek to win. Also seeing a healthy Aaron Mayes makes me think I underestimated what Franklin Co. will be bringing to the table. I think Coach Donnelly has the program headed in the right direction.

Does anyone have the first day's schedule? I really want to see Woodford/Henry Clay/Harrison Co. slug it out. Also the fact that Lafayette/Bourbon Co. and Franklin Co. are all in the same bracket with them is going to make a tremendous first day. It's been a long time since wrestling was this competitive in the 7th Region. There is no clear favorite and that makes it so exciting that a lot will be riding on every single match and minute. Any help with the brackets would be much appreciated from a fan of central Kentucky wrestling.

Until someone dethrones Woodford Co., they are the best team in the 7th Region. TC could easily be toppled by two other teams as well. At the Region 7 tournament I feel like it's Woodford Co., Tates Creek, Henry Clay and Harrison Co., in the top tier PLD, Franklin Co. and Lafayette next followed by Montgomery Co., Bourbon Co. and Bryan Station with Madison Central and Western Hills improving but not there yet.

There will be a four way battle in my opinion for the Region 7 title. Henry Clay Harrison Co. Woodford Co. Tates Creek It would not shock me if Franklin Co., PLD or Lafayette upset somebody.

Don't sleep on Harrison Co., for Saturday. I haven't heard much about them, but they are tough this year. I see them moving on into the second day. I see it as this: Pool 1- Woodford Co., Harrison Co., Henry Clay in Pool 2 I see it as Tates Creek, Dunbar and Madison Central.

Not to take anything away from Ryan Harlow but Nathan Gray has a severe shoulder injury which has basically kept him from practicing all year and meant he has been wrestling with one arm all year.

Two kids to watch at 112 are Chris Cory from PCC and Robert Ankrom from Johnson Central both performed well yesterday.

Tates Creek beat Johnson Central 42-34. Nathan Gray lost twice today to Ryan Harlow and Anthony Cantrell. He has not had a full of week of practice yet and is definitely way out of shape. He will be fine when all is said and done. Johnson Central wrestled hard today and nothing can be taken from their heavies who flat out won today. However in a month I'll be very interested for the rematches at TCI.

I was wondering if anyone knew the teams participating this year?

In the heavyweight division Henry Clay and PLD had two good looking prospects last night also PLD also had a promising 215 as well.

Last night there was a scrimmage at Tates Creek with the city schools. A couple of guys that looked pretty good from Henry Clay were their heavyweight, I don't know his name but he was impressive and they also had their schools running back Tyler Hooker out and he also looked really good.
