    High Schools picking up wrestling.

    Wrestling Lays a Foundation for Other Sports by Ben Peterson w/Ethan Bosch Each fall, many young athletes debate whether or not to go out for wrestling. Football and soccer players have had a full fall season of practices and games. Some are excited about their prospects for the next season in that sport, so they think that lifting specifically for that sport would help them the most. Others are anticipating a spring sport, like baseball. If either of these is your case, let me urge you to consider the following benefits of wrestling for your other sport(s): 1) Wrestling is built on position. A good stance is vital to most any sports activity. Football

    First Annual Youth State Wrestling Duals

    Worst case scenerio there will be 6 matches. Total # of rounds is seven but most teams will either have 5 matches or at the most 6.

    This is a one day tournament. To my understanding there is no 5 match rule in youth, coaches do have the option if needed to bring more that 1 wrestler per weight class to give their wrestlers a break.

    Unfortunately no registrations for the July tournament have been received. The tournament is cancelled

    Only a handful of spots remain if you are interested
  21. Montgomery County will host a summer wrestling clinic on August 21st and 22nd, the camp clinician will be Tom Ryan, Head Coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes. The cost of the camp will be $100 for 3 sessions, limited space is available. If you are interested please email Jerry Sutphin @ sutphinjerry@yahoo.com. Clinic will be filled on a first come first serve basis.

    We are still planning on having our July 18th tournament as scheduled, we need to have enough registrations submitted by July 10th to be able to host the tournament. If you are interested in this tournament please pre register as soon as possible so we do not have to cancel again. No registrations will be accepted the day of the tournament. Thanks, Coach Sutphin
