I haven't seen much conversation lately about youth programs. How many youth programs are still practicing this year? We are at Montgomery county, does anyone have any interest in a open practice session some saturday to get the kids some additional mat time? Who plans on attending the Bluegrass games? :-D

There are two tournaments going on tomorrow, who is going where?

This Saturday at Lafayette High School. weigh ins from 8 - 10 wrestling starts at 11:00. At least that is my understanding

Montgomery county is bringing around 12

Start a youth program to get the kids and parents interested early. Then allow word of mouth to spread and watch your program grow.

We didn't come close to Brandon Florida but my High School went 13 seasons without a loss. I was fortunate to be a part of 4 of those seasons and two state titles. What high school? Buckeye High School in Northeastern Ohio.

This was a good tournament, our kids from Montgomery County Takedown club had a good time.

We are moving to Kentucky next week from Northwest Ohio. In Ohio we have two State Championships - Grade School State which has been around for awhile and Ourway State which in only a couple of years old. Both tournaments are ran well and have good turnouts. My son competes in both because they offer him what he is looking for. The ability to improve through competition, I believe if the board keeps that in mind it really doesn't matter how many state tournaments you have as long as they help the kids. I for one am looking forward to moving to Kentucky and I will definitely volunteer my time at my kids new school to help grow the sport. Wrestling has a lot to offer youth, just keep that as your number one objective and all else will fall into place.

How does things look for next year in the 9-10 year old division 55-60lb weight classes?

We will be moving to the Mt. Sterling area in Montgomery county

We are moving to Kentucky March 4th, my son is 8 years old and has qualified for the Ohio Grade School States. He will not be able to wrestle in the state tournament due to the move, will he be eligible to wrestle in the Kentucky youth Tournament? My company will be moving us to a temporary facility until we close on our house. Please respond because my son loves to compete in this sport and has done so for 4 years. Thanks :-D

Thank you, we currenlty live in Northwestern Ohio and I may be transferring to the Montgomery county area, my son is 9 years old and has wrestled in a very competitive league since he was four years old. I am trying to find him a club close by where he can continue to wrestle.
