This event will take place at Central Hardin High School. All wrestlers (Bantam-Schoolboys) can register to participate in the event. As an official who spent the entire week out in Fargo, I would like to congratulate our KY wrestlers. Every wrestler gave it there all and wrestled well despite not bringing home a medal. I personally watched John Fahy, Kyle Terry, and Caleb Ervin wrestle. Each wrestled very well. Kentucky is growing on the national scene. However, we need our coaches to understand that wrestling Freestyle and Greco-Roman will help in the development of our wrestlers. Kentucky is working on promoting Freestyle and Greco tournaments throughout the state in the off-season. Congratulations to all wrestlers. You represented Kentucky very well.

Very glad to see the turnout we had this past weekend for Freestyle and Greco State. If you plan on going to Columbus and wrestling Freestyle and/or Greco-Roman this weekend, you MUST have a red and blue singlet (either 2 seperate singlets or a reversable one). The tournament at Central on 05/16 will have all 4 styles. If you have never wrestled freestyle and greco, we will have a clinic to explain the differences b/w freestyle/greco and folkstyle. Every time you wrestle, I guarentee you learn something new, good or bad. Please do not be afraid of freestyle or greco. Wrestling freestyle and greco WILL make you a much better folkstyle wrestler. The only way to get better at wrestling is MAT TIME regardless of what style it is.

This is still true. For freestyle and Greco, you need a red and blue singlet. Folkstyle really does not matter

Officiating is alot of fun and gives you a change to be active in the sport (if you are not a current athlete). If you are over 18, Kentucky USA wrestling will be able to take care of your membership fee. However, you will need to obtain a background check. If you are under 18, you don't have to worry about getting a background check. Wrestlers, you will be able to wrestle and officiate at these tournaments. I have attached a copy of the current schedule for this season. If you are interested, please personal message me or send me an e-mail (gpikul@hotmail.com) so I can get you signed up for tournaments this season. We will have a clinic at each event for both wrestlers and officials to go over rules and situations. If you are also interested in officiating freestyle and/or greco as well, please let me know.
