Well said. I'm lucky enough to be near a powered computer here for a couple of minutes. Being one of the coaches that was called for this decision, it was not made hastily. It was made in the best interest of everyone involved. As a coach, I for one would not: A) put my kids on a bus when even the bus depot doesn't have power. put my kids on a bus after not practicing for 4 days C) put my kids on the bus when 18 of my wrestlers don't have power or water D) put my kids on the bus when I have a neighborhood to clear out, and so do all my wrestlers. They're tough strong kids, I told them to get out there and help, which I believe we should all be doing! For god sakes, I love wrestling, but enough is enough.... our state doesn't need to worry about HS wrestling right now.

We're going down to Woodford this weekend for duals, and I for one am looking forward to their hospitality room. It's been awesome in the past!

I have made it apparent that I hate this idea, and am not behind it as a coach. When I found out we were having Region 5 at Hoops, I went ballistic. I find it unfortunate that the explanation that was given me was that a Jeff Co school in our region was hosting region, and they were forced by their AD who was forced by Jeff Co AD to hold it at Hoops. I know for a fact myself, Coach Fiser, and Coach Riorden will never hold it at Hoops, and have said when it rolls back around to the (3) Oldham Co schools we will put it back in our school where it belongs.

Going in forfeiting 18 (middle schoolers away) we figured it wouldn't be too good a day. The boys wrestled extremely well, and stepped up to take 3rd place as a team. We've never finished higher than 8th I think, so it was a strong showing for us. Mitch Rusch, 7th grader 103, Chase Rusch's little brother. hopefully follows in brothers footsteps and is a 2x state qualifier before he hits high school.

Interesting discussion. Let me begin by saying that as North Oldham's head coach for three years now, and coaching Thomson since he was in 7th grade, the kids's awesome, and a solid wrestler. Of course I'm biased, and I should be. Do I care what he is ranked? Not really. Do I share information with Ranger? Of course, I believe we all should. It helps the sport to have a guy who is informed and puts together what I like to tell my guys is a 'hitlist' of wrestlers at their weight they need to beat. At the end of the day, I could care less what my guys are ranked, mat performance dictates medals, but I know that for especially my younger wrestlers, that _does_ mean something to them. You see, newer guys to the sport understand rankings. They understand when a kid is talked about as being 'Top ten ranked' and it means something to them, and it gets them hooked in early. Now, when they pay their dues, they realize it doesn't matter, but rankings are great for some motivation now and again. Secondly, to all involved: drag North Oldham out of this conversation. Dinubus is not on our team. His points are his own to make. Dinubus and Ranger could do opposing rankings, or whatever, doesn't matter to me, let them do as they will and I am sure it will be entertaining. It seems Coomes/Ranger is no longer an issue, so it might be neat to toss someone out there. In the end, let them decide. My point being that North Oldham, and my program have nothing to do with this discussion. My kids will settle where they need to be on the mat.

Actually yes, Rob does have a fight coming soon on Warsaw IN oct 18th . Ontheroad coach (G) is his trainer (as well as our middle school coach). Rob wrestled for other places besides Eastern.
