Honestly, as opposed to you who is bashing a little 12th grader? Still a kid. But you've proved your point, you don't like 'the all mighty parents of louisville who can't keep their blow holes closed'. We get it. Move on. -

I know for a fact the Hitchings went to Gabriel, my mother was their 7th and 8th grade science teacher. As for the rest of them I can't speak, but I do know, living in FC area growing up that the Optimist club is not attached to the school system. I played optimist baseball and basketball, and its was called Fern Creek Optimist and had nothing to do with the schools. -
I would like to give some congratulations to one of my guys Dan Thomson on being named VYPE magazine athlete of the month, and WHAS athelete of the week. He was interviewed for WHAS yesterday and it will air next Tuesday at 6 PM. This is some nice exposure for our sport, so I hope everyone will tune in and see one of our own get some recognition.

This one (135) for me will be the best if it works out this way. Looking around the region, now that Fizer has stepped back, I think somehow I'm the head coach that's been around the longest in region 5 (And I'm 29). I've watched Shirey for the last couple of years and have nothing but good things to say about the kid, he's a heckuva fun wrestler to watch. For our team's part, Chase is fun to watch as well, and having coached him since he was a wee 7th grader, I get pretty invested in seeing him do well. If these two meet up in the finals, it'll be a good match IMHO.

Thanks for the compliment coach. He only wrestled one match, versus South oldham.

Rusch is at 135 now

I have to give big props to Coach hare and the Bullitt East program. They came out for their first match (ever) at North Oldham last night, and were really impressive for a 1st year program with not a whole lot of time on the mat. 30+ kids, parent support, and some aggressive hungry kids means they will be successful as the years go on. Coach hare is doing an outstanding job!

North Oldham Mustang Classic Feb 6th need more teams
NOHS_wrestling replied to NOHS_wrestling's topic in 2010 Season
Add Trinity (mixed) to the list -
At this point we have confirmed the following 26 teams: Trinity University heights Doss Jeffersontown Central PRP North Hardin Oldham County Fort Knox South Oldham Boone Walton Verona Fairdale Iroquois Shawnee Valley Fern Creek Holmes Moore Western Holy Cross Bishop Brossard Bullitt Central Christian County Campbell County North Oldham We could use another 1 or 2, or maybe a few smaller ones. It's usually a pretty quick day for so many teams, last year we got out by 7 or so.
-
North Oldham will be there.
-
North will be there, but we'll be missing 7 of our 14 varsity guys. I think we'll be forfeiting 4-5 weight classes. Who knew so many kids went out of town for thanksgiving?

North Oldham opens up with Wayne Co, Jeffersonville IN, and Saint X on Tuesday at our place.

NP, normally I'm not one to post on such arguements, but honestly I won't have someone deride my community. I like where I live. I love my neighbors. We work hard to raise our children right and better our community.

I could care less about the Rap/Rock argument- but I have to take issue with this 21 yr old kid. Take your own advice, don't argue something that you don't know about. I live in Iroquois, have for a long time. I resent the fact you say it's "hood". Just because you have "a friend" that lived in the projects. I don't care what family you have in SS, you don't live their now, and you obviously didn't live their long enough to see people being people. Grow up. My home isn't hood. My home is a neighborhood of people that are trying to make it like the rest of us. It's working class people, some lower end socioeconomically, some middle of the road who are just trying to make it. It's kids like you that perpetuate the negative stereotypes about my neighborhood. Me and my neighbors don't shine to folks like you. Stop pretending that we're something we're not. We're people, don't dehumanize us because you think it makes you sound tough. It doesn't, it makes you sound silly and uninformed. We're not a rap song, or a biggie lyric, we're people just being people. You try to sound so cool about how you can get a fit, a meal, and some underground CD's.... stop it. You sound like a petty little braggert riding on the coatails of people you know NOTHING about. You harp on the negatives, and what makes you sound "Cool". Get over it and grow up.

Who was the best KY high school wrestler in the past decade?
NOHS_wrestling replied to sneaky snake's topic in 2010 Season
Ok, pound for pound... sure I can see looking to the middle/ mid upper weights 140-171 for the best, but what did Sullivan lack? The kid was class on and off the mat. I remember sitting at a tourney and watching bout every Wayne kid get a medal for something, but one little 8th grader. I was sitting next to Danny Upchruch and he pointed out Sullivan and said watch this. Lo and behold, the kid walks over the 8th grader and takes his medal off and puts it around the boys neck, smacks the boy on the shoulder and walks off. You can't coach that. On the mat, the kid could throw a bull to it's back. I remember at state duals one year me and my assistants made a joke that we hoped he didn't knock out our 112 pounder. Lo and behold, 6 seconds into the match he hipped tossed him and KOed my kid. No exaggeration. 6 second. unconscious. My 112 wasn't a fish either, wasn't great, but was a 50-50 wrestler at the time. I'm not entirely sure what he was lacking, I for one would take a kid like that in a heartbeat on my team, and assuredly on a All time KY team, probably as the Captain.
