What ages are the groups?

I thought there would be a lot bigger turnout then that. With it being a national meet why are the top 2 only considered all americans?

How was the turnout? Anout how many per bracket?

Seen him live way back in his Iowa days, he's a great wrestler.

Well I just said wrestling room in this case because that is what they had at Conner where they were doing to announcing from. Could be any area where they report, a wrestling room, stage, room off of the gym, etc.

In my example you really don't have to call out kids by name. Just the division and weight. Every kid should know what weight they are in and in most cases it gets written on their hand as well. If they don't report then you could call them by name. I'm sure as well the longer the programs go and more experience the little bugs will get worked out.

I'm not new to wrestling. I wrestled from the time I was 5 to 17 and have been to 100's of touraments in folkstyle, freestyle, and greco. That is how most tournaments are ran and they do indeed work. Plus it gets rid of the problem of having a bunch of little kids hangin around a mat all day when it could sometimes be an our or 2 between their matches. You go to a big high school or college tournament and they pretty much go through them by weight. This is the same thing basically but you are also going by age division as well.

Nope, I don't even think kids are required to wear them. Atleast they didn't have to when I was wrestling, that may have changed now.

No, that was my first tournament here actually. I'm not originally from here and that was my sons first tournament (he's in K). So now that you mentioned it I must ask. If that was the best what seems to be the problem? The matches seemed to be the biggest confusion. None of the kids really knew where they were at or when they were up it seemed unless they called their name over the speakers. Just tossing out things here about what I'm used to seeing. First each age group has a name like beginner, novice, etc. That makes it a little easier IMO then just saying 00-02, 98-99, especially for the kids. Then rather then just mixing them all together kind of go in order by age and weight and just call them down. Call down beginner 45, 50, 55 down to the (wrestling room) pair them up, tell them what number mat they are on, and have a runner take them to that mat. Then once those matches start getting done call down beginner 60, 65, 70 and so on. Anyways I'm sure a lot of people know that, just throwing out some ideas so they continue to get better and run more smoothly.

It was a little unorganized, the matches could have been set up better, and some of the refs were suspect, but overall it seemed like a pretty good tournament.

So can my cute little butterball 6 year old not wrestle in this tournament because he weighs 92 pounds instead of 91?
