Ft. Campbell's 119, Zach Bontrager, needs to be ranked somewhere. I think he has only lost one match this year - to #3 Josh Johnson. He was the MOW at Hoptown's Orange and Black. He has also beaten #16 Bryce Alexander twice. Hopkinsville's 189, Dee Allen, beat #7 Jarrod Aull rather convincingly at Caldwell last weekend. -
Another post has a partial list of results (mainly for John Hardin), but not a complete listing. Does anyone have a complete listing of the final results?

Does anyone know if this is all that is going to be there? I expected a much larger turnout. What about the Danville Middle school tournament the same weekend? Any idea who is going to attend? -
Union is going to be tough to beat, as usual. Ft. Campbell is going to be stronger than anticipated, and Christian County will also be in the running. Ft. Campbell has a new kid at 119 from Virginia that looked pretty smooth. Hopkinsville is still rebuilding. Ohio County will not have the numbers, but will have several quality wrestlers.

I agree there needs to be some guidelines in place. Is there an official governing body for the elementary wrestling program in Kentucky? If not, I know there would be a lot of interest in forming one. Each area of the state needs representation so we can move the tournament each year, or have a central location. I also agree we need to limit participation to Kentucky elementary kids, and follow the same rules used in High School tournaments so kids won't have to wrestle 3 times in 45 minutes. I appreciate the effort everyone has put into the tournament, but the number of wrestlers now participating calls for a statewide governing body.

We have a young elementary and middle school team looking to schedule dual meets in Central or Western Kentucky. Is anyone out there interested?

Christian County High School expressed interest in hosting the Elementary State tournament this year. I don't know if anything has been scheduled yet. Does anyone know who is in charge of the elementary state?
-
Nope. The two-piece uniform has not been approved for high school. I like the singlets anyway.

The UK wrestling team used to practice in the wrestling room in Memorial Coliseum. I'm sure with the demise of the wrestling program in the early 80's and the remodeling of Memorial, this was gutted, but you may want to check on it. UK had some nationally ranked teams back in the 70's. I think it would be great for this program to get revived, even as a club level. Good luck.

Don't underestimate Coach Chuck Anderson either. He has been around the block a few times.

Do you know the first names of these state champs?

Does anyone know anything about the elementary school state tournament this year? I think it was held at Larue last year. Likewise, what about the middle school state tournament?

We had several young wrestlers that were unable to make the state tournament. I would like them to see the level of wrestling in the finals. Does anyone know if there is a video of the finals for sale?

Title IX is the problem. This caused two collegiate teams I was on to fold in the late 70's - early 80's. Until Title IX is amended don't expect UL or UK to start a wrestling team.

UHA will be there
-
University Heights will be there also

Where in Illinois? We have several kids that would be interested.
