  1. Screw that I applaud Metcalf. Who the hell wants to sit there and watch a dude jump around WITH TIME LEFT ON THE CLOCK!! Metcalf told you before if you wrestle him he's gonna wrestle you the whole 7 min., that's exactly what he did.

Correction:  He wrestled for the whole 7 min and 3 seconds.  Caldwell started his backflip when time ran out and Metcalf hit him after the whistle blew.

  2. Cattan gets hated on all the time and in my opinion he is one of the best refs in the state.  It seems if he is on the mat even if he is an assistant he gets blamed for the calls the head ref makes.  Like him or not he is consistant and that is what everyone wants.

You are either Joe or his wife.  Joe is so far from the best ref in the state it isn't fun.  His goal is to draw attention to himself and take a match to OT at the last second.  He wins every match.

  3. Yes i think bradbury only beat him by like 3 or 4. It was somewhere around there. I know it wasn't a major though.

They weren't even the same weight class.  Union and Trinity only saw each other 4 times last year; at Ryle Rumble (myron didn't wrestle); at Harrison in Evansville 9-way; at State Duals in Championship match and the Individual State Tournament.  Where did they wrestle each other in competition ?  :?

  4. Yes i agree. I mean jarvis beat bradbury and there is no way that fahy is that much better than bradbury. Thats "IF" he is better.

The best measure would be if elam and fahy had wrestled the same wrestler.  Paden is that same wrestler.  elam beat paden 10-5 at the state tournament in 2008.  Fahy beat Paden 14-3 one year later at the state tournament.  Fahy wins, no question.

  5. When did Bradbury beat Elam? And even if he did, Elam still beat him 3 times, including at state duals and state, where it mattered.  And when did Smith pin Elam (who would have been wrestling up a weight class)? 103 was a much stronger weight class last year when Elam won (by pin in the finals). And to be perfectly honest, i thought 103 was fairly weak this year (one stand out does not make a strong weight class, depth and good competition do).  So it is difficult to compare Fahy and Elam, although I think it would still be close.  But I would say that a tech or pin would be a gigantic stretch.  I would give the victory to Jarvis Elam, because if it came down to it, he would want it more.

    103-Elam dec. Fahy 6-3           3-0 Union

112-Myron Bradbury pin Issac Thomas                   3-6 Trinity

119 Aaron Carr pin Brent Hitchings                         9-6 Union

125 Jake Wempe major Sean Gillespie 14-4              13-6 Union

130 Caleb Ervin pin Bradon Birk                              19-6 Union

135 Luke Ervin pin Matt Matheny                           25-6 Union

140 Matt Young dec. Trinity                                  28-6 Union

145 Grant Ohlmann dec Issac Ervin 4-3                    28-9 Union

152 Erin McCauley maj. dec Joshua Willet 13-5          28-13 Union

160 Mitch Ervin pin Cooper Bohn                             34-13 Union

171 Brad Hitchings pin Jarrod Burke                          34-19 Union

189 Josh Lewis maj. dec. Diante Wright 10-1             34-23 Union

215 Brock Messina major Levi Griggs  13-2                 34-27 Union

285 Jordan Whiting pin Union                                   34-33 Union

Union takes a nice lead and then Trinity gradually catches up but never takes the lead.  Union wins.

You lose all credibility by saying Elam would stay close to Fahy, let alone beat him.  He could want it all he wants but I don't see him having anywhere near the drive that Fahy has.  They both wrestled Paden except Paden would have been a full year more improved yet Fahy beat him 14-3 and Elam beat him 10-5.  103 may not have been as strong but comparing common opponents head to head, Fahy comes out on top.

Smith and Elam would met at Raider Rumble when Elam was at 19.  And he pinned him.  Here is a excerpt from the results (http://www.ohiowrestler.com/Results-07/OW_07_RyleRaiderRumble_Results.pdf):

    First Place

    103: Sean Vandyke(Grundy) over Dakota Vance(Grundy B) forfeit

    112: Dan Smith(Trinity) pin Jarvis Elam(Union Co.) 5:36

  6. From my experience, I know Coach Brown to be passionate about wrestling and has always been open to help other wrestlers improve.  He certainly focuses most of his time on Trinity but as you pointed out, there are open mat opportunities as well where others would come and work out.

  7. wow 4 weeks? bet it costs a ton!

$2300 if you sign up early and you pay for travel there and back (about $350).  I know a number of wrestlers where this really made a difference.  The Voth brothers went the year my son went.  It builds more than just wrestling skills but it is a sacrifice.

  8. Brown vs. Olhman, I don't think this will happen though b/c Olhman will miss weight b/c he's biggest 145 I've ever seen!!!! jp

    Johnson vs. Ervin vs. Slone

    Bradbury vs. Leavell

    Whiting vs. Croney

Kelly vs. Payne, I know Kelly would win but I just like to see Mark get put through PAYYYYNNNEE haha

    Courtney vs. Ray

    Zarth vs. Osburne

Ervin vs. Jakes vs. Freeman, really I just want to see Isaac win one.

Korey likes to slow the match down. Davis on the other hand just works works works til he finds an opening. For this reason alone I predict Davis will tear Shotwell up on his feet. I'm not sure how it will work out on the mat though. If Davis can just explode and put the match back on his feet he has a shot. Korey is a very tough top man probably one of the best leg riders in the state though. I think this one will come down to the wire.

Assume you were joking but Ohlmann will not miss weight...he is more disciplined than most adults when it comes to that.  To Brown's demise, Ohlmann will be there and he will win.

  9. Anybody figure out the best way to get those things to print at a legible size. I am trying to get the whole bracket with the championship and consolation trees.

unfortunately whatever program they use is not made for printing.  I have tried for years without success.  I think they do it on purpose as they will sell printed brackets at the tournament.
