Had a late cancellation for the Jeff Classic today - Christian Academy is out - I want to bring in 1 team on a year year basis at first and then discuss the future - if you got an opening for a 16 team invite on December 14-15 let me know! We place it out to 8 individual spots, give academic winners per weight class, for the tournament, and give top 2 team trophies. We give an OW and most pins award. We have a pancake breakfast at it, Zaxby's chicken in the concession stand, a clothing vendor on site, the NAVY SEALS doing a demo, a silent auction for xmas shopping and drawing the Team State Duals brackets at the tournament. We run it on 5 mats. 2 rounds on Friday and the rest on Saturday - usually done about 3:30 on Saturday. Come on in and join the tourney! As a coach from "across the river" I probably live closer to the clinic than anyone that actually lives in Kentucky! So this was great to have a clinic at the Galt house. This was the first time I was able to go, and just wanted to say AWESOME JOB to the guys that run the KWCA. I am one of the few in charge of our Indiana State Clinics, and I have to say I got tons of ideas from you guys. i normally go to about 6 clinics around the country a year, and this one was right there with the top. Having it downtown was GREAT as it was fun to just walk out the door to lunch. The drawings were great, must of took those guys a ton of time to do that. The booklet was great - again took people a bunch of time. Having the clinic in the host hotel is a nice touch for coaches. Just wanted to say from first time visitor to the clinic, and an out of state coach. I was very impressed with it, and look forward to coming back. Nice job guys!

Alex Dolly, who joined the Michigan State wrestling staff as a volunteer assistant in June 2009, is in his third season with the Spartan program. Dolly came to MSU from Northern Iowa, where he was a standout wrestler. While at Northern Iowa, Dolly wrestled at 184 pounds and earned four trips to the NCAA Championships. He reached the round of 12 on three occasions at the NCAA Championships and finished his career with an overall record of 74-57. Dolly hails from Mishawaka, Ind., where he holds the state's all-time career takedown record with 548 and was a two-time USA Wrestling National All-American. In September 2011, Dolly represented Ireland at the FILA World Championships in Istabul, Turkey. Dolly wrestled in the 84-kilogram freestyle division and reached the quarterfinal round. He defeated Alvarez Martinez of Honduras in his opening match of the competition, 9-1, and followed that up with a 9-0 victory over Dejan Bogdanov of Macedonia. Dolly fell to Japan's Shinya Matsumoto in the quarterfinals, 6-4. WEDNESDAY NIGHT – CHARLIE PINGLETON – NAIA NATIONAL CHAMPION, AND NCAA ALL-AMERICAN April 11 - 4:30 - 6:30 ....also New Zealand National Team, and NAIA National Runner Up Ian Stephens Wednesday night is a big night for Team Jeff wrestling. We will be celebrating the arrival of 10 wrestlers and 2 coaches from New Zealand with a huge practice! We will have NAIA Champion, and NAIA All-American Charlie Pingleton here from Lindsey Wilson College, along with NAIA National Runner Up Ian Stephens. Pingleton was a 2x IHSAA runner up, a member of the national guard, and the current MSC Conference Wrestlers of the Year. Charlie started his wrestling career with Coach Struck in Greencastle Indiana. Other area teams will be participating in this practice as well, we have confirmation of a mid-bus load of Jennings County wrestlers coming, and we know we have a few New Albany wrestlers always involved. Come join the fun! We will also host a special practice with the New Zeland wrestlers on THURSDAY from 4:00 to 5:15 if your available and interested.
