Hopkinsville had a dual meet today. Isaac Ervin is going 130 this year .. he's gotten bigger and stronger. jake wempe still at 125. alan johnson at 135! but that year not wrestling had showed off. rob caricillo going 145 this year instead of 152. zach rinestien going 285 this year instead of 215. i dont know if mitch ervin is going 152 this year he wrestled there today but not sure if he did it just to bump up to wrestle better competition. jake skinner wrestled up 135 today but weighing 130 beat johnson but lost to isaac ervin. also dont know the name but ft. campbell has a new kid thats 119 pretttttty tough.

WRESTLERS: Are the strongest fastest and smartest athletes in the world. But that's not what makes them unique. They are the MOST dedicated people in the world. They sacrifice their lives to a sport of fighting. Where practice is 3 hours of lifting and throwing and conditioning. 3 hours of a literal street brawl. They give up there social lives. They cant party and get drunk because making weight on Saturday won't allow it. They cant go smoke after school cause they worked too damn hard to get into shape. They have no team out on the mat with them to help get past an opponent. They stand on a mat with all eyes on them, alone, no one to fall back on when they make a mistake, no safety to make the tackle, and no goaly to make a diving save. They are the leanest meanest and strongest in the world. Ladies want them, men want to be just like them. So this is a tribute to all those who sacrifice everything, their free time, their food, and most importantly their life. Why would someone work so hard, til they are puking in practice, sweating in their 3 layers and a sauna suit or skipping that badass party? Or why would they induce the blood sweat and tears? Or the early morning runs, or mid day workouts or the extra run after practice to lose that last pound to make weight. The road in wrestling always ends in tears. The man that takes second cries cause his dreams are over, and the man that wins it all cries more than anybody because finaly everything that they have afore mentened is finally worth while. Wrestlers will wrestle through anything because they are friggin' wrestlers. And greatness walks right with the word wrestler. I salute all who commit there life to something greater, something bigger than themselves. Wrestlers dont do wrestling cause they like it, you would be crazy to like to beat yourself up on a daily basis, and get beaten up by teammates and opponents just as much. Yet there are the few who love it, they do it cause they were born to. These select people I applaud. There is no future in wrestling, no pro league, no million dollar contract. Just a smelly practice room and a dream to be great.Wrestling is not a sport, its a lifestyle.

Something i've heard alot about has happened to me. most short people i know stop growing and their weight stays the same i usually gain about 10 pounds every year this year im the weight i wrestled at this year .. so i might just stay at 130 or drop to 125 anyone else have the same thing happen?

Our Coach will only allow us to cut 10 pounds at the maximum this year.

140 daniel thueman wins it 145 pat banks 160 josh cooper thueman and banks have been some of our better wrestlers for the past couple of years but just havent gotten the gold yet hopefully they can pull it off this year and the coopers always seem to pull off a state championship and josh is the last one yet to pull it off alots rididng on his shoulders and i think this will motivate him coming in to the season to go out there and win it.

christian countys 130 is goin 130 again this year

i'd put trinity up there somewhere there gonna be a threat with alot of the fern creek kids moving to trinity.

i believe the heavyweight class should stay the same until we get enough heavyweights we wouldnt have enough competition or that many wrestlers. but if we did have enought wrestlers to make another weight class i'd have to go with grappler and go 185 210 235 hvy

who plans on goin 130 next season?

it was today it was alright the only bracket i know is the cadet 145 brad hitchings came in 1st and jake skinner came second and cadet 152 harrison courtney won.. dan smith and aaron carr (adams bro) wrestled and dan smith beat him and thats about all i know it was a well ran tourney!

Universtiy Hights Academey ... its a private school in the Hopkisville/Christian County region

after cameron bibbs threw in his splits on 3 people at state it took them a while to get up and once they did it looked like they might be bow legged for life ..

carmeron bibbs and ozzy parker are quick off there feet its like the whistle blows and the next thing you know you got taken down.

wats been the most memorable wrestling moment for you or a teammate of yours?

personally since im a region 1 fan i liked the bryan hall and mike clark match with like 5 or 10 seconds left bryan took a shot out of desperation and got the takedown and got to go to the finals and wrestle on his own mat.

one for me would be at the state tournament when my friend/teammate Cameron Bibbs get 4th place. He really wrestled like a beast this tournament pinning 3 kids with his splits he was the only wrestler that went 2 periods with murton.

i think isaac deserved that 3rd place finish after beating a top notch wrestler like caleb. but caleb was injured i believe and didnt wrestle for 7th and 8th.
