Horsepower Wrestling Club starts today (March 9th) Practices are every Monday and Wednesday from 6pm - 7:30pm. HPWC takes place at Moore. Go around back side of building and follow the street all the way down and to the left near the garages. You will see door 13. The wrestling room is through there. Sasa Petkovic will be a regular instructor at the Horsepower Wrestling Club. Sasa trained at the Olympic Training center for a number of years and his dad is resident Greco Coach there as well as an Olympic Champion. If you already have a card then your good, it cost nothing. Moore will host the first annual Big Brother Duals on Saturday Nov. 28th 2009. This is a new duals format I wanted to do with teams who have middle school feeder programs. These teams are in: Scott/Woodland Fern Creek/Fern Creek Wrestling Club Moore/ Moore Middle We need 3 more teams!!!! It works like this. 6 programs are needed. Moore will dual Fern Creek for example. Dualing the middle school teams first then the high school teams second or vice versa. Scores are combined for an overall score. EX. Fern Creek WC 36 Moore Middle 24 Moore High 42 Fern Creek High 36 Combined Fern Creek 72 Moore 66 At the end of all 5 duals the team with the best combined record is the Big Brother Duals Champion! I think this is an awesome duals format that many programs will enjoy. It brings your program together as one and is a great Thanksgiving break get together for everyone. This is awesome for parents and families who have wrestlers involved in both the middle school and high school programs at your school. I need 5 teams who would like to be involved. Monday PRP

Lost?? People sometimes have difficulty finding the wrestling room at Moore. Turn into Moore from the Outer Loop and follow that road around the building. When you come to the 4-way stop you will go straight ahead. You will then come to another stop sign. Go straight through that one also and it will curve down to the left. Park near the garage and enter through door 13.

It was awesome to see so many wrestlers there. Hope you guys enjoyed the facility and the atmosphere.

Waggener has no interest in wrestling at their school. They have not even advertised for a wrestling coach in the last 7 years. Not sure who the A.D is but he obviously does not want wrestling. You can atleast put an ad out seeking a coach. If you can't find one thats a different story but if you are not even looking for one.... Its just unacceptable to me to drop a sports program that has done well and can do well.

Sasa comes by Moore a lot and has taught me a ton. We are lucky to have this guy living here in Louisville and need to take advantage of his knowledge. Sasa's dad was an Olympic Gold medalist and I believe he will also be at the camp. Like KYwrestler said, his father coached the USA Greco team. Sasa is trying to get a lot of guys from the Olympic training center to come down here for this camp. The more kids that show, the more great USA wrestlers will be there to instruct.

Th JV state tournament has been saved thanks to Coach Kraesig and St. X. They have volunteered to pick it up and hold it next Saturday Feb. 7th at St. X in Louisville. I still need results from regions 2, 5, and 8. I know that region 2 was suppose to have regions Wednesday. Hopefully they can maybe have them one day this upcoming week. JV State will be cancelled for this week at Moore in Louisville. I am trying to get someone to host it the following wekend on the 7th. We can not host it on that weekend. I don't want it to not go on. A lot of young wrestlers are real excited about this tournament. If anyone can host it on the 7th please let me know. I already have the medals and trophies ordered and we have regions 1,3,4,6,7 with reported wrestlers. Region 2 was suppose to have their JV regional tonight but of course it was cancelled.

The 2nd annual JV state wrestling tournament will be held at Moore Traditional School in Louisville Kentucky. Regions are responsible for hosting a JV regional and sending me the results. Moore is looking to hire a new varsity assistant coach. Assistant Coach James Miracle is moving back to Ohio. He has done a great job at Moore these past two years and is a big part of the success Moore has recently had. He will be missed. A little info about Moore. Moore is located in Louisville and is the only 6-12th grade public school in Jefferson County. Because we are 6-12th grade we have both a middle school and high school team. We feed ourselves through our middle school team. Moore has placed top 5 in Louisville the past two years in a row; 2007 placing 5th and 2008 placing 4th in the Jefferson County Tournament. Moore won the North Oldham Mustang Classic Tournament in 2008. Our facilities and equipment our amongst the best in the state. We have a outstanding athletic director who has greatly helped our quick rise and great supportive parents. We run a top notch conditioning program and are a very organized program. These are the many upsides to our program. The Downside.... We lost 5 seniors. These 5 seniors wrestled here since their freshmen year and 2 of them started in middle school. This upcoming year is definitely a rebuilding year and a great year to step in as a coach to help shape this young team. We do however gain 4 wrestlers with experience off of the middle school team who move up as freshmen.
