Moore is having our annual Navy/Gray scrimmage on Friday Nov. 20th at 7pm. I need a ref who would like to come get some practice before the season. I'll take a couple refs actually and you can split matches. Yes, Holmes now has a middle school team and Fern Creek will use their youth wrestling club.

The Big Brother Duals is a program duals. Meaning that 6 programs (program consist of middle school and high school team) will wrestle each other. Combined scores will be kept and the winner will be the team with the best record at the end of all 5 duals. So far Moore Holmes Scott Fern Creek Montgomery County Waiting on Connor

We are looking for a couple teams to come to Moore for a 3-way and possibly a 4-way on friday Jan. 29th. Not sure how many of you have wrestled on friday nights but its a blast, plus you will get one pound the next day. Let me know if you are interested.

Ok Grappler. Thank you for the clarification. I may have taken it the wrong way. I mentioned a JV state for quite awhile and finally a bunch of coaches told me to stop talking about it and do it. We think if promoted by the coaches that these JV wrestlers will have something to work for rather then just being back-ups. We thought it would curve the number of younger wrestlers who are quitting because of not a lot of chances to compete. So coaches please help by mentioning to your younger wrestlers and JV guys that their is something for them at the end of the season as well

I say that only 16 teams were usually competing on this date with not a lot of other activity going on. Thats why this date was chosen rather then a date where everyone is everywhere and participation would be small. The date before regionals might be ok but we go to a tournament and I couldn't host JV state while sending my team to a tournament. We use a lot of parents and wrestlers to run the tournament.

oh and the date will be Saturday January 30th.

JV State will be at it's birthplace this year. Moore. It was only at St. X last year because it was postponed because of the ice storm and our gym was in use. It will always be at Moore unless noted otherwise.

Just finished this. Check it out. Its a word document with a list of former wrestlers, their colleges (if any), and their accomplishments. I may have left a few out but I tried to keep it current.

Wondering everyones opinion about this. MMA uses board shorts and in grappling tournaments everywhere board shorts are used. Do you think this could increase participation at the youth and high school level? DISCUSS

The shorts are worn in MMA competition. I'm sure most people here have watched MMA or watch it quite often. How often are the shorts a problem when you watch MMA? It seems they have already been battle tested. I love my singlets but I do know that several kids look at wrestling in a different way because of them. I'm just thinking that we, as wrestlers, look at MMA who wears a similar outfit as above as wrestling with striking and submissions. If because of the uniform we could get kids to look at wrestling as MMA without striking or submissions then its a win situation. I mean the popularity of MMA is huge and every kid knows what that is. Does that make sense? I agree its crap and kids shouldn't care but lets face it. Teenagers and youth, both boys and girls, often look at it as silly because of the singlet.

Thats an example. Is getting fingers caught that big of a problem if the shirt is tight? Some people mentioned broken fingers but as long as I have been coaching I have not had any fingers broke in practice with even looser clothing.

Fight/board shorts are what MMA fighters wear. A rashguard is a tight fitting spandex type shirt like an under armor shirt.
