Who was the best wrestler to not win a state title????
LOWsingle140 replied to Who-Want-It!'s topic in 2006 Season
josh cooper, daniel thueneman, and pat banks. man its a tie between these 3, id probably have to go with cooper. -
The only person that can honestly judge these 4 is someone who has recently watched all them wrestle. And I havent, and I know most of the people on here havent. Ruschell is an unbelievably hard worker, and I would bet money that Ruschell would beat all of them. And I deffinetly couldnt see Murton beating any of them really.

http://www.bgsg.org/pdfs/summer_2007/Wrestling.pdf this is the flier for the bgsg.

Im telling you now, it is a deffinite no that you cant wrestle in 4 brackets. And yeah your right about the 5 match rule, I dont think it goes into effect. You might be able to get some exhibitions in though.
-
Lol dang 12 matches though.. youd be toasted. Thats like 3 tourneys in one day. And the 5 match rule.
-
You cant do that. You can wrestling Cadet 160 and 171, or you can wrestling Cadet 160 and Junior 160. Dude you would be in 4 different brackets lol. Thats a possibility of like 12 matches.
-
Yeah they will.
-
Jake Lee will be there at 160 cadet.
-
Touche, touche. But that was beside the point.

Evans is inconsistent, he hasnt convinced me just yet. Sullivan beats him like 9 times, and one time Sullivan has a bad match, but still pins him. I agree he was getting man handled though, but its all about who comes out on top. Sullivan, Martin, and Evans are all pretty close, it would be awesome matches.

Nope, I didnt say the better coach was at the private schools, even though they probably are because they most likely get paid more. But the scenario I was using was if you were going to a crappy public school. And no, theres no way Highlands should of go there title took away, it all depeneds on how bad the crime was. It was a stupid little thing, that whoever accused him, was just being picky. And btw - you said playing sports are not about winning. Enough said.
-
Martin would beat Voth and maybe Evans, I dont know about Sullivan. Martin is an all american.

How you live and grow up is most influenced by your surroundings. If you are on a team that has absolutely no future and has always been mediocre or not too good at a sport, that doesn't exactly mean you will be mediocre or bad, but you would be a hell of a lot better being surrounded by champions. If you want your son to be able to achieve any goals he wants, and give him the opportunity to achieve his max potential, "that dominating private school" is the place to be. "That private school" will be more consistent, and every ONCE in a while, a team will sneak up and upset those powerhouse private schools in the finals. And how could you say sports aren't about winning at all? "If a sport isnt about winning, then why is there a scoreboard in every gym in the country. " - Adolph Rupp. If you aren't in a sport to win, then you better leave that sport. Its not all about winning, but it is after you have learned your mistakes from losing. Winning is fun, is it not? And pioneer is right, it isn't fair. A kid that has worked his butt off at a crappy school that doesn't know how to win but is still dedicated, ends up having his dreams of a state title crushed by a team that is pretty much artificial. You can have that "take it to 'em" attitude, and yeah your kid will have fun, but when he is losing because of his bad coach, and isn't getting looked at by college recruits, because of his bad coach, thats when you will be like wow... its all my fault that I didn't put my son in a better environment. Alright volume 2 of this novel comes out next year, see ya guys.

Ok first of all, I have loads of respect for Ervin and Courtney. Second of all, ya Ervin is growing, but so is Courtney, 2x state champ. Third of all, Ervin is the one trying to catch Courtney. And Courtney beat Banks 4-2 in the finals of his freshmen year, Ervin beat banks 6-4 his junior year. Fourth of all, 10th among sophmores is still awesome, especially being a middle weight. I dont think they will even be in the same weight class though. Ok, im done, and good luck to Ervin and Courtney, it would be an awesome match.
-
Last time I checked Courtney is a 2x state champ and ranked 10th in the country, and placed 3rd at nationals?
-
Courtney will beat Ervin like.. 8-2, 10-2. I dont think anyone remembers that the 2006 145 weight class was absolutely stacked, Ervin placed 6th that year, when Courtney went on to win it.
-
Does anyone know if Choate is going? If so, what weight?
-
I honestly dont think Courtney will lose in Kentucky for the rest of his career.
-
Kelly is a junior so if he doesnt win it this year, he only has one more shot. But yeah, I totally agree with out. I dont think anyone will touch Jones this year.
-
It also probably looked better for college recruits if he was higher then 112. And if you are comparing there high school careers to decide who is the best it is all going to be pretty even. But if you compare them now, Ruschell kills them all. Ruschell is a winner, he will pick you apart, most of his matches you have already lost before you started because he always has a good plan going into the match, and knows your flaws. I would love to see these 4 wrestle. Wow, I would honestly pay good money, and travel a good distance to watch those matches.

Dude, you wont find it anywhere besides ebay.
