Nice Post. It was a fun match/event to watch. Plus, Tim Lawson is a great guy also. As most people know.

What a story...that is a strong man. Very inspiring to see what wrestling can teach you and help you with the rest of your life.

This just proves how hard it is to have a winning program year after year.

That's awesome. Go Nick! Everybody seems to hate the winners. Looking at Larue's young team, Larue will win state in the near future and he'll probably get another chance to be booed in the near future...

Courtney beat Peace acouple of times his 7th and 8th grade years I think. And yes Peace was a year older. Peace was a freshman that year.

Any word on what happened to Courtney? And is the injury very serious?

I never complain about refs either, but that was one of the worse calls at the state tournament ever. Also there was one in the finals years back(around 2002?) where someone got called for stalling on top in ot. Anyone remember who that was? I know thats not much to go on... But that Woodford list is sick....all credit goes to Coach Parks and Carr.

This may sound odd, but.... I think wrestling as a whole is better now. A lot deeper. But I think the State Champs were better back in the day. I know you might say how's that possible. It just seems that way to me. I still think the best of the best from then would beat the best of the best now. Someone was right, it is a "softer" sport now.

Sounds about right. They have had one hell of a ride. I think 19 years in a row being top 3 at State Tournament. Kids in high school were not even born the last time Woodford got worse than 3rd.

It would be impressive. Plus he is a great kid. It's a shame that Lexington does not have better teams. That is really something to look at...why Lexington can't get youth programs going? But I guess thats another tread.

Fahy is going to Trinity. Looks like Bradbury is going to 119 and the other two will be at 103 and 112. Trinity will be stacked next year.

Besides Coty Lewis? And I don't know if people really see that as an upset.

Looks like Ervin at 145 lost to Sanders from Harrison Co. So much for people thinking Ervin was going to beat Courtney.....

I agree!! Never been a fan of this 32 man bracket. Not to mention three days is too long.

Explain to me what my bias is? I couldn't agree more, he brought this on himself. I bet that 4th seed had a better record this year than Coty? Not much of an upset if you ask me. Coty isn't half the wrestler he once was. No bias, fact.

And let's count everything BUT the Beast of the East Tournament that Reid and Peace went to. Thanks.

I think people are finally sick of Coty Lewis' crap. People put too much sweat and tears into this sport and get upset when they see other wrestlers disrespect it the way he was over the last couple of years. I know I'm getting off topic, but do agree he will lose first or second round and then throw a fit and not place. It's like death and taxes. But this is the last time we'll have to see it. And I'm from Woodford Co.....
