Mathound 4 Report post Posted February 24, 2010 With the end of the 2010 year, we are finishing up this decade. Who made your cut for the all-decade team (2000-2010). Don't just say, "John Doe ... four time state champion". It should take more than just statistics to get on this team

Zeus 117 Report post Posted February 24, 2010 I think the first thing you have to do is establish what years you're going to include. For example Josh Johnson started out at 112 in 8th grade when he lost in the finals. Then he wins state at 135 and 152 his sophomore and senior years but places 3rd his junior year at 140. Which year and weight class is he going to represent?

naplesme 58 Report post Posted February 25, 2010 I don't have an argument with most except 189: that would have to be Christian County's A.J. Green. Starks couldn't touch Green during his career, he lost to Green everytime they wrestled.

naplesme 58 Report post Posted February 25, 2010 IMHO none of the 171's would touch 2000's George King. The longest he spent on the mat in any of his four matches was 1:59. He pinned every one of his opponents in the first period.

oldwrestler81 6 Report post Posted February 25, 2010 What about Ruschell at 119 his senior year. Not only did he dominate everyone in the state but he was actually small enough to wrestle 112 at the beast (where he placed).
grappler-of-old 44 Report post Posted February 26, 2010 I wrestled with this decision over and over. George King was my first gut pick. But it was so long ago I had a hard time comparing him to the others. Was an animal on the mat. And the hat he wore off the mat was awsome. :-D
takedownartist 6 Report post Posted February 27, 2010 Takn Brad Cooper over Zarth at 119 2001, Brad Cooper over 135 Murton. Brad Cooper beat some pretty high end wrestlers like Luke Metzker who was a machine and another I would take even though we only won it twice over Murton was Michael Jackson at 135, he was a bad man, he beat him self up befor he wrestled warming up then spanked you,Now you go back to the decade befor that, half these names aren't up here
