dinubus 2 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 Is this a one day thing? How are you going to get past the 5 match rule?
Indians40 2 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 This is a one day tournament. To my understanding there is no 5 match rule in youth, coaches do have the option if needed to bring more that 1 wrestler per weight class to give their wrestlers a break.
dinubus 2 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 I don't know the rules for Elementary and MS, so you may be correct. I thought they had to follow KHSAA rulings. If this is not the case, that may be a positive so long as we do not overwhelm our newer youth wrestlers, but I guess that is on the coaches.
Indians40 2 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 Worst case scenerio there will be 6 matches. Total # of rounds is seven but most teams will either have 5 matches or at the most 6.
CoachSmith 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 I think this is a great idea!! It gives schools that dont have big numbers a chance to compete with some of the bigger schools. Great job with this and hopefully all 16 teams will be there and will compete

Buckeye 20 Report post Posted October 11, 2009 There is no five match rule, however you will have a hard time finding a ref who will agree to a sixth match!
