Looks like Lenz got a good dose of reality. A wrestler shows his true colors through tough and smooth times.

it was actually a good match at the beginning andy was in pretty good control. His only problem were the throws and his bleeding but i believe he will be another wrestler when he gets to wrestle 112, but good job ben joseph for pulling an upset. good luck to both wrestlers

i give props to andy for being able to wrestle up a weight class, and other people still expecting him to win. how many other wrestlers could do this?

What was everyone's opinion on the officials.  Bet you can guess mine!

By far some of the worst I've seen this season...the tournament went smoothly and nothing against North Hardin, but they definitely got the "B" squad for this part of the state in regards to refs.

The 130 final match was decided buy a bad call by the Asian ref.  The Harrison Co. kid was being tilted and was out of bounds and the ref called a pin after time had expired.

ok i believe that it was close. the time went out like right when he called the pin and that could be debated either way and his body may have been out but both of his shoulders were in-bound and on the mat from where i could see.

Can U be pinned with one shoulder in and the other out??? I know the answer I just want clarification because this ref cost me first place in our regional tournament as a team due to the incorect call.  I wont say what side of that one I was on but someone clarify this so that all new refs can see what is supposed to be called and not just take my word for it.  Lets see what is in the rule book shall we?

no both shoulders have to be on the mat in order for it to be considered a pin

just like if someone is on their back out of bounds you don't get near fall

and to ankle pick what would have happened if alex didn't pin him right there is totally unpredictable but im pretty sure alex was in total control before then...

I'm pretty sure that if the wrestler is on his back, and his back is out of bounds, near-fall is not awarded, but the ref does look for the pin. I've almost been awarded a pin on a kid who's back was out of bounds recently (The ref was looking for it but we ended up going out completely).

you dont get near fall or a pin if one shoulder is out of bounds. your shoulders need not be flat in order to be pinned either, only your shoulder blades. many refs are different on just how far to the middle of your back this rule extends, and many refs are different on how far down towards your butt the pin is called as well. just as anything else about officiating, its all a matter of opinion, next time dont get on your back. i myself have learned this the hard way.
