Richard Starks and Kyle Ruschell at the Cliff Kleen Invittaional

Recommended Posts

Great tournament by both.  Not sure where Starks will move. Last week's intermat ranking had Starks at 13, the top seed defaulted in the quarters so his win in the semis probably won't move him much.  Possibly top 10. Wrestling Mall had him at 20, I would expect to see him in the top 15 base on that, maybe 12.  A Cliff Keen finalist should count for something.

Kyle had a solid tournament as well, unfortunately he may drop 1 or 2 spots even though he put down several seeded kids.

I am impressed with Peter Yates, VTech.  True freshman, finished 8th.  He is a Georgia boy, remember watching him at the Beast last year.

Not to come on here and knock Ruschell but, he just doesn't look himself out there. I saw the match between him and Caldwell, there was no intensity like he had in previous years. Is he alright?

Kyle is fine, better than last year.  He is healthy.  I saw the match.  I am sure he was very tentative against Caldwell and for good reason.  DC is as dangerous as they get.  He pinned Palmer in the finals and pinned Metcalf last year.

That is very true. I can see where he is a little tentative with Caldwell.

Caldwell is fun to watch and a good pinner, one of the best in the collegiate ranks IMO.

Check out the Caldwell vs Palmer match two excellent wrestlers!

When will he meet up with Metcalf?

For the KY fans... here are a couple pictures of our boys...

Both did a good job in LV... this is great "practice" for the real show in March!  This is the type of tourney that enables you to see where you are, what you need to work on, and work out some of the kinks...

Hope you enjoy the pictures...
