As of yesterday, Bishop Brossart will be allowing me to start a wrestling team this year. With as late as it is I could definitely use some help finding a mat. If you know of anyone that has an extra mat or if you have extra pieces that you don

Congrats on the new team.  Where exactly is Brossert located?

It's about 2.7 miles down the road from Campbell County H.S.  It's a small private school, but they're usually pretty good in a few sports (cross country & basketball usually).  That's the only private school in N. ky to start a program, so maybe it'll start a trend.

Clint - best of luck to you there!  That's great news.

I do really hope the Ky wrestling community supports this and all new programs; they need all the help they can get. If any of you have been keeping up with the politics of Ky high school sports (not just wrestling), though, as long as these private schools remain the whipping boys of a sport, they will be fine. But as soon as they start winning, the public schools start "boycotting" putting private schools on their schedule. It's already happening now. I know it's not the coaches doing this but their administrators, as coaches know you get better by playing against the best regardless of public or private. So Coach Bell, I really do wish you good luck.

Just don't get too good.

Clarification to all-  I am not the coach for Bishop Brossart.  I am a coach at Cooper and am merely spreading the word and trying to help out a fellow coach.  His email is on the original post if you would like to contact him directly.  Thanks
