Apollowrestling 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2007 i think you could see josh king a senior from apollo ranked 19 at 140 face issac ervin in the regional finals this year. he beat all the other guys he faced from region 1 last year (except luke ervin and jon miller) he placed 3rd last year at 135. he's gotten stronger and i think he'll be in the finals at 140. yesman101 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2007 union county clearly are the faves to win region 1 with all of their experience but henderson has probably the 2nd most depth coming back. years wrestling with younger guys in the lineup has paid off big time. i say henderson, caldwell, and ohio county are in the race for runner-up. His injury last year was devistating. (I still remember hearing it.) Hope he is doing well as well as Vinson, both very tough wrestlers/people in general. Henderson185 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2007 It's true that Henderson won't have the most returning state qualifiers, but we will have the most depth coming back because we have 100% coming back. We had no seniors last year. I think Caldwell will def be in the top five.1.Union2.Henderson/Christian3.Caldwell/ft. Campbell4.Ohio

colonelcoach2007 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2007 Well with that said what do you think the outcome between UC vs Caldwell will be in each matchup... Caldwell vs Union103-? Jarvis Elam 112-? Aaron Carr119-? Caleb Ervin125-Mitchell Coleman Jake Wempe130-Joe Young/ Lee Linder Luke Ervin135-Clay Overby Matt Young/ Matt Burke140-? Isaac Ervin145-Gavin Agneau Clint French/ Josh Willett152-Sam Mitchell Mitch Ervin160-Steven Lamb Timmy McKenney171-Kyle Proffitt Jarrad Burke189-Zach Vinson Deonte Wright215-Logan Kennaday Levi GriggsHWT-Tanner Flynn Zarr Dudley160 may be an open weight class if Tim Mckenney, a freshman is at the top. Interesting. Caldwell County will have a few decent wrestlers though. They always do. Mickey knows all the rules and makes sure that all the refs know he does. naplesme 58 Report post Posted September 25, 2007 Just a few things Christian Co changed its tournament date because the coaches would rather compete against Woodford Co for teams rather the North Harding and South Oldham and the Middle School Regionals. Not saying competing against Woodford for teams will be easy, but it will be easier than three other tournaments. Plus moving dates gives the varsity the option of attending North Hardin's Trojan or South Oldham's Dragon tournament. Yes the tournament will be two days this year. The 1st day will be a JV/Middle school tournament, the 2nd day the Varsity tournament. Yes, we did lose Union Co but wouldn't exactly call the competion weak. Tuscaloosa Co from Alabama, Collierville, Beech, Montgomery Central & Northwest from TN, Booneville, IN are among the teams coming. Others have committed for next year. Finally it's hard to pass up a chance to let wrestlers compete in their own gym. As for state duals, Christian County will not be attending, they've already scheduled to go to a tournament at Bob Jones High School in Madison, Alabama this year. So the 2nd team going to state duals is open to another Region 1 team that wants it.
pridewrestler 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2007 Jason will be at Union taking over his dad's job in 3 or 4 years. He has 1 more year at Trigg to teach and he is probably going to end up back in union co. according to reliable sources (as in Jason). He might be helping at caldwell this year but thats a no brainer, he lives in caldwell and goes to some of their practices anyways. Caldwell always has some tough wrestlers and mickey will know what to do with them. Dont look forward to mickey coaching many more years tho.
