alright im just going to comment on myself...

I dont know who the Southern kid is, he may be able to beat me, he may not

Corey Mills probably wont get scored on in regionals if he makes 125 but I honestly dont think that he has a chance to.

And I plan on being 119 next year.

Hector was a senior so he's gone.  BeBop, I don't know why you're worrying about not being ranked #1 in the preseason.  They're just for fun and talk.  Nickel spent about 4 or 5 weeks last year ranked #2 on the Region 3 rankings!  I'm more curious to see how many of the kids actually wrestle the weights at which gatsby has them listed.  I think getting those correct would be more impressive than ranking the kids correctly.  Is Colston really jumping from 119 to 135?  For the Doss kids, if Kendall Davison wrestles, he'll be at 112.  Lewis and Hacker will be 119 / 125.  Whichever one wrestles 119, the other will wrestle 125.  The same for Marksbury and Cahill at 130 / 135.  I don't know if Leonard Williams will be with the team next year.  Lantis Brown will be either 160 or 171.  Whichever weight he wrestles, Monroe will wrestle the other.  I'm curious to see what the other line-ups will look like for the other Region 3 teams.  Lastly, I know someone asked about Akeem Bennett from B.C.  He's pretty decent wrestler.  He exhibitioned Cahill last year and they had a pretty good match.  Cahill did win though.

Cahill is a good wrestler but is someone who he beat [considering he weighs in the 20/30's lb range] really gonna win region at 152? Come on now.

Nahjah was pretty good for a first year wrestler. He's ranked somewhere around tenth in state. He'll do pretty good next season. There are alot of young 171's that have a chance of placing next year. That weight is lookin' a little thin.

*Just a few of my opinions:

*Northington will almost certainly not be 145

*I don't think i'll be at risk of losing to anyone at 152 in our region unless Walls decides to stay but he is pretty big

*Alex Hacker will probly be at 119 and in a position where he could win it

*Brandon Nix from Doss will beat out Conner Johnstone if they meet

*145 sounds a little high for Micheal Chaney

Corey Mills will probly be 130

I understand what you mean but you've got all next season to prove the rankings wrong and I wish both of you the best of luck.

How did he "fluke" win?  He beat you in a back and forth match that really could have gone either way.  Bryant illegally slammed him.  And he just didn't give up against Austin Pugh (CONN).  CB, you're a great wrestler.  And it took alot of heart and determination to come back and take third in region.  Most first year guys would have given up.  Come back strong this year and good luck.

To awnser your question hacker... I just enrolled back at southern(I wrestled in indiana this season) and ill be southerns 112 or 119 again next year. It depends on my weight. But im back in kentucky and ive got to say Indiana has some tough wrestlers and its a tough state. It was a good exspirience..

I'm sure everybody knows by now that Indiana does have better wrestlers than Kentucky. But just because you wrestle better wrestlers doesn't automatically make you a better wrestler. I'm not saying that you aren't or haven't become a better wrestler but in my opinion its the stuff in the off-season that counts the most rather than just wrestling high school folkstyle season and just expecting to dominate your region because you wrestled in a tougher state for a year. I know that Ive been working my tail off every since free style season began and going to camps, tournaments, clinics, etc. so that i can have a shot a being a regional champion next year. But as for you going 119 next year thats also where i plan on being unless i have a sudden change of heart... but the moral to my story is that you have to get out and do some work in the off season or your not going to reap the same benefits as the kids who go out and work every week and wrestle tournaments every weekend and I'm sure it will definitely show in the high school season. but the best of luck to you and your whole team.

Bebop, you know i love you but Payne is going to win our region... but use people saying that to motivate you to win our region. but i mean you cant just not do anything in the off season and expect to just win regions i know for a fact that Payne and Baily are doing off season stuff rite now and youre sitting at home on kentuckywrestling complaining about why youre not ranked #1 in the region. as many posts as you put on here is proof enough that you dont do anything or that you havent done anything so far this year. i know that you did last year and you improved leaps and bounds. plus pre season rankings dont even matter any ways. RANKINGS in general dont even matter at all because, i mean i dont want to sound stereotypical and use the old Derek Nickel example but he was only ranked 6th and won the whole thing. also in the beginning of the year derek wasnt even ranked first in the region for a little while. but just use what people say as motivation, do the work in the off season, i love you, tara says hi. and she loves the fro guy -->

I am new to this board. BUT I really have a problem with Hacker. First you tell Bebop he's not going to win region because he does not work hard enough, then you say Payne is going to win HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THAT? Payne is working this summer he's not wrestling nor is Bebop I have seen one person that I have wrestled this summer already and even though he took a year off he's stronger and bigger than these guys but Hacker ou never give him credit for anything he does. When he finally gets in shape and it all starts to click again i think he will be real tough in your region. I saw him suplex a 280 lb kid in Charlestown and I don't believe these two guys could do that. I just wish He lived near me and we had him on our team. He always seems to do what the coach asked and he's always seems friendly to me and other guys on my team. Hacker I think the next time you look for someone who could win your region. Why don't you just look down the line at one of your team mates. Because I finally figured out who you are and what schools you all went to when you invaded In.

Indiana435, What are you talking about? You're saying that you saw Bebop suplex a 280 pound guy at Charlestown? or Payne? because either way youre lying because i wrestled at Charlestown and neither one of them were there. the only ky 285 there was Derrick Lawson and he only had one EXHIBITION with a cadet that never wrestled freestyle before. Derrick Lawson is good, Bebop Smith is good, Payne is good, and its going to be a good regional tournament between all three of these guys. I think that this weight class is going to be the most even matched in our region and i think that all 3 of these people could place top 8 in state next year. I know that Derrick Lawson is practicing every single monday ant wednesday and going to as many tournaments as he can, i know that Payne is practicing with us sometimes when hes not working but not doing any tournaments, and i know that Bebop is not doing ANYTHING AT ALL. Ive talked to Bebop personally, my self and told him that we have fund raisers to help him pay for the club, USA Wrestling Card, and that we can get him a ride every single day. but he still refuses. I know that Bebop has amazing potential, but thats all it is, POTENTIAL. that potential doesnt mean anything if you dont practice and work your rear off to make it work. but i think that the kids that are doing the work in the off season are going to shine in the season and the ones that dont... wont. and yeah bebop eats babies.

Hacker surely you can read. I said the guy I saw was your team mate I did not know his last name. I said it was your teammate. And if you think in your mind this was this kid over here in IN his first time boy you have alot to learn. This was not his first time. but I'm not going in to that. Any way I saw Payne working at his work place I knew who he was and I asked someone about him he said he had only been to your club ONE time so you need to get your facts straight anyway I don't care about what goes on it Ky just thoght I would write something because I liked the kid I saw wrestle and I see nothing but an up side to him
