KY Freestyle / Greco National Teams info

Recommended Posts

Coaches,

Attached is information regarding the 2023 KY Freestyle / Greco National Team Dates, Clinics, Logistics etc.

We had a pretty good turnout last year, and sent a 16U Freestyle team to Loves Park, Illinois and a Junior Freestyle team to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The teams were composed of some of the best Kentucky wrestlers from all over the state, and they were able wrestle 9ish duals against some of the best competition from all around country (Washington, California, Kansas, Wisconsin)

Kentucky won several duals, had guys go undefeated (make the all-tournament team) and the Junior Team won the Rollie Hoover Freestyle Award. A few months later, 12 of the KY National Team members competed at Freestyle/Greco National Championships in Fargo, ND, and the Raney twins each won National Titles.

In addition to the great wrestling opportunities, the guys also developed relationships and friendships with other Kentucky wrestlers from around the state. I think this is vital in growing our sport, and it’s really cool to see these guys interact with each other at tournaments during the High School Season.

We’re trying to get as many KY athletes to the clinics as we can (Coach Shuck and Bellarmine have been great hosts) & then to the Freestyle/Greco State tournament. Our goal this year is to send a 14U Team to Oaks, PA.

Thank you coaches for all you do!

These are great opportunities, and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out @ 719-209-1852

This will still be at Bellarmine correct? They have had some facility issues over the last few weeks.
