The top portion of that page is the same awards procedures as last year during COVID. With schools in session without mask mandates, this rule is stupid. Surely this was an oversight.

Hopefully an oversight.  I never truly understood the 1-2-2 anyway.  The push for more wrestling on your feet and then reduce the time requirement on your feet does not make sense to me.

It should be clearly defined not left open ended. Just like the 30 second break last yr. Left open ended and would be taken advantage of when teams were gassed but when they weren't they did not use it.....

I saw that too. I thought maybe it was oversight but I went and looked at other sports. It's all the same "adopted" for 2021-2022. That's why I pose the question.

Correct. I spoke with the rules interpreter,Mark Shumate and it is an option, not mandatory. So 2-2-2, unless for some reason you prefer 1-2-2
