Knights go 1-1 in season opener

Shout out to the Bellarmine Knights in their 2021-2022 season opener tri meet against SIUE and IU.  The Knights avenged a loss from last season to SIUE, by beating them 19-18 on criteria.  Two freshman started their careers off with a win---Jack Parker at 125 and Cole Nance with a big pin at 157.  Although we took some tough losses to IU, Devin Hendricks had a great win at 165 and Eric Beck gave Nick South all he could handle at 174 but came up a little short.

All in all, what a great start.  All the boys were well conditioned and much more aggressive than in the past.  There is definitely a confidence building amongst this group, and a lot more wins ahead of them in the schedule.  Big thanks to Coach Shuck and Coach Murphy for a job very well done so far, and to the awesome number of fans who turned out to watch the home opener.  

Best of luck to the Knights next weekend as they head to the East Coast to wrestle George Mason, Bucknell and Averett.  Bring home 3 more wins boys!!
