Team Duals/Technique Camp- Kentucky Wesleyan College

Recommended Posts

With the season finishing up we wanted to get some information out on our dual meet/technique camp this coming June. We have reached out to many of the top 10 teams in their respective divisions in the nearby states, and are getting a lot of interest. We’d like to get more Kentucky representation this summer, and do our part to help grow wrestling out here. Below is a link to our camp website, and breakdown of camp. The website also includes the weight classes (12), camp schedule, registration information, what to bring, etc. Individuals ARE welcome, and will be placed on a team that is vacant at that given weight class. If you have any questions feel free to contact Rob McCabe (denver.mccabe@kwc.edu), or Chris Freije (chris.freije@kwc.edu).

Cost: MEALS AND LODGING ARE INCLUDED

$1,500 per team of 10 if pre-registered by April 15th

$1,800 per team of 10 if registered by May 15th

$2,000 per team of 10 if registered after May 15th

*NOTE: All wrestlers over the 10 are $150

What: Team Duals- 15+ matches + an All-Star Dual for the top two at each weight, and technique in the morning

Date: June 10th-14th

Last year for clinicians, Anthony Robles was in, KWC Assistant Coach Rob McCabe (2X DII AA), Travis Barroquillo from University of Cumberlands (4X NAIA AA), and KWC Head Coach Chris Freije (DII runner-up). We’ll add a few more clinicians/college coaches this year as well. Outside of getting the competition and technique we want to get the kids exposure, and the chance to meet coaches from all the levels of college wrestling.

Extra technique session, Q&A's, mental training, and note-taking sessions for teams will also be available at no charge. There are also a lot of activities to do around town during rec time (fishing, escape rooms, bowling, an indoor ice rink, nearby trails, movie theatre, malls) if you want to get off campus, as well as activities available on campus (football, ultimate frisbee, ping pong, pool, foozball, disc golf, etc.) for the campers to interact with the clinicians and camp staff.

Coaches,

Still a tough price to beat for a team camp at $180.  This includes campus dorms for housing and meals for the 5 days.

Ten teams have committed and we are looking to add 5-10 more depending on the size of teams.

Individuals are welcome to attend, we will place them on teams to insure they get their matches in!
