Wow.  I have to imagine if a former state champ lost in the first round before it hasn't happened often.

Once in a blue moon!! 220 is pretty interesting

I know it happened in 1996 when josh preece beat returning state champ robbie bodner in the first round.

Did Preece get upset in Regionals to set up that match for the first round?

I don’t think so. Dan Carman was in that region that year and that kid was a beast. 112 was loaded that year. Plus it was the old 16 man brackets that every round was a grind.

Good on Pratt for wrestling back to 3rd. Also picked up the most pins in the least amount of time award in the process.

The coach made the right decision. However, the adults booing did not.

Agree that coaches deserve credit for that call. But you have to expect the crowd to react to that sort of action. I really hope Wyatt learns from this. Love the Andreoni family and hate to see that from Wyatt. But I will say there were a couple times where the crowd reacted negatively after a kid got his hand raised and that is sad to hear. Even in the situation of bad or questionable calls you shouldn’t be booing those hard working kids.

Woodford sets themselves up for the boo's.  They like to be the hated team.  I was told by some Woodford grads years ago that if they are hated then thats good because they are good. Ya take the good with the bad.

That’s an interesting philosophy.  Sad but, interesting.
