If no upsets happen at 195 should be number 1 and number 2 ranked in the finals. Anyone know if they have met this year? Results?

Matt Steven (larue) vs Dalton Jett (meade) should be the region finals at 195. Should be a very interesting match.

Wrestling starts at approximately 7:00 on Friday, 2 championship, 1 consolation 9:00 on Saturday.

Any idea if that '1 consolation round' will be the first one to be wrestled or the typical first round of consolations? The normal first round seems like it would be all byes, even for 132, the biggest weight class for that region.

Looks like 1st rd. champ = 24 matches, 2nd rd. champ = 56 matches, 1st rd. consol. = 0 matches, 2nd rd. consol. = 56 matches. That's if we go into the 'second round of consolations' though.

No major upsets that I saw first round. Everything going as I predicted so far. Meade Leads with 91, Laure sits at 81, and John Hardin at 79 points. These three teams have been leap frogging each other all night. I am sure tomorrow will be a different story. Also really liked wrestling the extra round tonight. It really made since. we were done by 9:30pm.

Only thing I was surprised at was Branden Leak in Blue jeans . Really hated seeing him on the side line especially his senior year. He really deserved the right to finish out his senior year.

Congrats to Larue for taking the Regional 2 Title. They were able to run off with it after the fourth round of matches. Meade just could not keep pace this year and John Hardin was not far behind. Congrats to all the Individual Winners in each weight class and am looking forward to see them all at State. I would have to say this was probably the best Regional Match up I have see in the past 6 years. There were a few dog fights this year and the whole gym was rocking for a few of the matches. Once again congrats for to Larue And Meade for coming 1 and 2 and all the Champions in their weight class. You all put on a show the past 2 days.

It was a great tournament.  Super proud of Larue county for their accomplishments this season.  They were able to beat some very good teams. The LaRue / Meade rivalry is live and well.  As expected they wrestle hard from the first whistle to the last and are as classy in defeat as they are in victory.  Look forward to seeing some rematches in the late rounds of state tourney.  Saw some somewhat serious injuries at the tourney and I hope and pray for a speedy recovery for all involved.

John Hardin had a very good tournament missing some guys and are a young team.   Apollo had a strong showing and are very young.  North, Central, Taylor have some strong kids who are gonna be returning.  To think this tourney could be even tougher next year is exciting.   Best of luck to all the state qualifiers next week.   Let's have a great showing.
