i just found out that last year he broke his collar bone and messed up his shouldar.
but i feel as tho he shouldnt be ranked number 1 because he hasnt placed at all
because the only titles that he holds is, WCI Champion, and Regional champion.
WCI is a rough tournment but he barely won the finals. but the kid he beat went on to get second as codey got nothing so do you think he is really competing at any true level of wrestling. i honestly think that he wrestles easy tournments that he knows he can win no problem at all that way his record is amazing and then when it comes to wrestling true talent he barely gets by. (im sorry to anyone that thinks hes a top notch wrestler but he isnt hes a joke)

Goldmedalist,

Calling him a joke is uncalled for.  I'm sure he's done some things to merit the ranking.  This is traditonally not a tough weight class.  With that said, I believe this year is no exception.  Him being a senior and older for the weight class, is a definite advantage.  This of course in addition to his accomplishments and the fact he is a good wrestler.  If you're not happy where you're at in the rankings then work harder.  No need to bash someone.  It all comes out in the wash.  Lets see where he's at on the podium...I bet it's top 3 if he's at 106.

Nathan Boston was 106 for 2 years.....Brock Ervin won his first at 106.......Traditionally ????? ..ETC ETC ETC   ...the list goes on.......Foolish statement if you ask me !!!!!

Wow...I must have touched a nerve. I meant 106 AS A WHOLE is not traditionally as tough as a lot of the other weight classes.  I meant no disrespect.  I didn't wrestle heavy.  My son wrestled 106 as an 8th grader and will go 120 or 126 this year for Ryle.  My name is Scott Erdman.  Anyone who knows me, knows my character.  I was stating my opinion on the other thread which is one of the reasons for the forum.  I believe I gave props to Brock, Fausz and Boston.  I have great respect for all 3.  If you don't like my opinion that's fine.  As far as the insult, you can kiss my rear end.

Come on guys. I know who both of you are. Both of you are great parents and love our sport. Lets just take a breath and relax. The light weights in my opinion traditionally make future champs. sometimes they stay light weighs. No biggie, its all good wrestling. We can't all be ATM and be born a freak of nature!! (I know my boy Mpire will like that!!) the kid is a beast! Anyways, back on subject. Can we get some new ranking to argue about?? Thanks!

Yeah I like bother of them so they must be ok lol

126 or 5 or whatever is the first weight in college I could see someone's point for questioning someone if they stayed 106 or 112 all through high school , Boston is and will be big enough to handle college weight him and his accomishments are very relevant ,

Personally I have seen a lot of very good wrestler start out as 103-112 and then go up and do very very well , the best in the country in fact , still to me :) not as impressive as starting off big and whipping all that @$$ .

I dieted my kids down as long as possible to keep them wrestling the best kids and they did it to themselves when I didn't push them to it only makes a kid better when they go up if a kid can wrestle the style of a light or middle and keep that pace / those moves as they get bigger it is very impressive when combined with the power of a large wrestler ,

No need to argue my friends the skill in the lightweight classes is remarkable I think the tough middle kids are actually the cream most of the time maybe different now in ky with the top dogs in those classes for the most part moving on , Brock and Boston and Fausz will have all eyes on the lighter ky guys this yr with everyone watching Lampes and some of the Nky kids to see who emerges as the next studs ,

The season has started as usual to soon in ky leaving its football / wrestlers screwed wich doesnt effect the lightweight guys usually oh well just have makeup work to do , some good Nky kids on the fields at Ryle and CC sucks go them .

I win ATM is a freak for sure bro he's taken it to another level but he wrestled 120 then 146 then 209 in jr high weighing a chunky 180 something chasing down comp and an ow he trains like no other kid I have ever seen to be what he is no disrespect to anyone I guarantee there has not been a kid do what he has and does to prepare in this or the state across the river , he doesn't have the partners or the wrestling time anymore and hasn't he makes up for it on his own , I like everyone for the most part but ATM has wrestled an trained like a pro for a long time it will show , if he had the partners and people to go with like he had in the past it would be very frightening , read the lb for lb stuff doesn't matter to me when you eat sleep train to do what he does it is freaky but not genetics or natural ability wich he does not have more of than many , you wake up go to school go to football practice go home sleep get up hit the gym for two hrs then head home around midnight about four days a week your on a different level than most , no need to include him in any more discussions its not fair he is not like anyone before him I hear if trainers across the river who claim to be making champions lol ATM could train them he is now stronger than I was at his age on most things and I had all four state records with ease simply watching him in the weight room is insane he pulls twelve 45s off the ground one arm snatches the 100s crushes apples in his hand lol and picks up qb rb off the ground like they were paper and decapitates lineman on his way to double legging rbs to their backs , no bs check him out , expect him to pull over 700 before he graduates he can do handsprings all the way across a foot all field and do walk the walls as well as any 103 in the state , he's a machine with a little more attitude than in years past , crasy saw him stick with a fast receiver about 50 yards downfield last week and smash him just as he was about to make a reception. Actually the most impressive thing I have seen him do in a while , a 235 lb MLB hanging with the fastest kids on the field , he's a bad dude period there is not and will never be anyone like him again in this state or any he came from , he may well go undefeated in HS ,

Now tell me who the best ever may be.

No doubt baby he will be a four time champ with the chance at a third and fourth nat title at 220 ,

All bs aside actually think about that .

I think Boston will be a very successful D1 wrestler. No doubt about it.  "A theoretical Round Robin" (who would beat who) was the context of my comments about the lighter weights classes as well as when speaking about a senior wrestling 106lbs would definitely have an edge.  My speculation as to why Ranger would put him at 1.  Experience and maturity (mental and physical) could definitely be a factor especially in this weight class that has 14 sophomore or younger in the top 20.  Not that some our finest ever haven't wrestled light.  That's absurd.

JCB0577, that's the pot calling the kettle black:)

Mpire, you're preaching to the choir, ATM's wrestling speaks for itself.  He's a monster and one of Kentucky's best ever already.

I know man I know everyone who meets Austin appreciates him I was just bragging lol he will do us all proud as he has done just like so many others from ky do yours included and third rounds included gotta love kids in ky and all those representing ,

Lightweight classes usually have a lot of underclassmen it only makes sense a lot of pits and kettles over at Ryle lol they have the Camels this weekend sucks for me I'm out of town I have seventeen eighteen to lose for 220 ATM has about ten to fifteen for our bf challenge you pots and kettles should suffer along with your kids like us camels do , new perspective and appreciation is gained through suffering mad respect for all the wrestlers cutting weight training and overcoming , good luck to all the ky kids in HS College and whatever level , good luck to that CC kindergartener today at his first practice as well haha , he had a couple at Woodford that went ok already for a few min anyway

I have to agree with the speed and flexibility that Austin has for a big guy. His strength I witnessed when we worked out was impressive. However the agility and flexibility I saw when you had all the boys line up on the wall to do wall walks was crazy. Mason was a 100 lb flexible kid that could not keep up with Austin during that drill. Crazy how fast Austin was. We have done that exercise every since then. Mason says he wants a rematch. Lol. Good luck to Austin this. Should be fun to watch.

Great for kids particularly wrestlers all those awkward positions make it scary to watch at times can't believe there are not more serious injuries its the flexibility and strength that comes with the sport that helps kids stay in one piece , Austin still hits them in the off season now and again to maintain the flexibility , his strength has skyrocketed that casual slower paced training in the gym is perfect for building strength , power lifters/ strength athletes have different speeds than say wrestlers or more radio based athletes , to get strong you eat rest train and say fresh for your next lift as the wrestling season approaches pick up the pace add some speed a few different moves and some cardio , the change itself stimulates growth , that's what brings change - change . Twelve 45s Dutch that's 585 he's over the top now , he wants 700 ! The best power it any sports move bar none dead lift . Every muscle group and explosive power , next I would say the lunge presses for wrestlers ,
