Scaggs won't go 106. Vega's too high at 120. Osborne eont go 106. No way Brock and Sean go the same weight class. Love me some Meiman but Frankrone will be a contender. Jmo...thanks ranger as always.

I didn't move too many kids to new weights without some good reason. Skaggs is a weight cutter so I assumed he would give it a try to go for a title. Vega was 113 most of last season and has competed higher this spring. If he grows at all he may be up there. Never know about Fausz and Ervin. Could give us another great matchup like Kevin and Stephen last yr. But I think team lineups make impact where they end up.

Makes sense. I meant I thought Vega was ranked too high at 120. What he did was great last year but there's some really tough kids ranked behind him. I don't see it but you've done this for quite awhile and are pretty accurate. We will see.

Anzar Kubanov , sounds much tougher than Ivan Drago Or even Nikita Kolov , he would scare the H out of me ..... Except he's 106 lol

Trevor Thompson will remain at 195. He made it easy last season and has been wrestling in the off season around 190 to 185. I think he is the front runner there too. He tech pinned miller from Scott twice and he has beat Darrious in the past. I think he brings home Conners first gold in 18 years.

Derek Wiley will also more than likely be at 120 maybe higher. I'm hearing he is hitting a growth spurt and I think he gets pretty big if his dad is any indication.

Those two are the only ones I'm really familiar with.

Not sure Mueller stays at 220 !!His dads a big dude and I think If he could get up around 240 or so "and he has looked bigger lately " and not lose any speed he would have a better shot against Young , a tough position for the talented Soph !!

They had a great battle for a state title as 8th graders with Mueller coming out on top. We had some great battles at MS Team KY workouts that year with those guys and Graziani and even Kearns for a few weeks in there rolling with Coach Cornett.

It would be a good battle between those guys next season.

I would say predicting weights in high school is harder then predicting the state tourney

Ha. Give the MS guys a guess. Those are some growing boys there.

Good job as always.. Braden Jones of Boone Co will be at 182 next year. He was injured at regionals last year at 170. He will be top 5 at 182 ....37-6 last year in the tough region 6 170's .. He's a beast

Thompson will stay at 195 and I'd put him #1

I think he stays 195 as well ,how neat would it be to see Trevor Austin And Tucker all win titles with them wrestling each other so often at open mats all over NKY , A big obstacle would be Young who is a giant a true Hvy in every sense talented as well as big , odd people just last yr saying the upper weights in Ky were weak , I don't think so . I think Ky does well as far as good kids at the tops of all weights . Fausz and Brock will not go the same weight and unlike Stephen and Kevin they do not have as many chances to meet up and are in different regions ,so I do not see it , not the same Dynamics , but it would be a big match ,

I'm sure Austin and Young may meet again this yr not that I would bump a 220 to wrestle a legit Hvy , but the Romans will want to be entertained again Young is a great kid from a great Family , hate seeing him Tucker or Austin lose just saying , all great kids ,

At the other end of the spectrum the lightweights with Vega and superstars Boston Blackwell Ervin Fausz are covered with studs , the middles not beeing as deep in my opinion as last yr with all the 45s 152sand 60s graduating , Jones Lampes and Courtney being top dogs in those weights keeping them legit but not as deep .

Kearns headed to LaSalle as well , the golden cross hype paying off finally for LaSalle who has not lived up to its hype from day one from its big coaching changes from a few yrs back , its biggest boost ever will come at the expense of Ky talent who will learn the bluegrass was in fact greener all along , just saying Shirkey has talent and could have went elsewhere in ky and had even better partners and Kearns could have stayed where he was wrestle with TT and improved or gotten really smart and went to CC and had more opportunities for good matchups at tournaments with a lot of Ohio wrestling and the best possible

Partner he could have had untill his Jr yr , hate seeing people fall victim to hype.when its not real .

Miller also beat Thompson a few weeks back at Spatola... I would say 195 is a crap shoot between the top three of Miller, Thompson, and Parrot.  Miller will be a big 195 next year as well not giving up weight.  He wrestled at 182 last year and gave up a lot of weight to place 4th at state.

Have to agree Miller could win it all just as easy as anyone else , a very smart talented and somewhat underrated wrestler !! I would not throw wins an losses between such evenly matched opponents out there but I would have to agree Thompson has a sise advantage it seems but the way kids grow that could change instantly .

Miller is very strong and that was with him giving up weight if he bulks up he will be very hard to beat, but if Thompson can get up early i feel he could ride Miller out Thompson has great legs for a 95 and knows how to use them. now Parrot is a very technically sound wrestler but gases after the 2nd if he can get his conditioning in then i see him possibly grabbing gold. like i said though i feel like in any of these matches the first period will pretty much decide it none of these guys are great at wrestling when down but good luck to them.

Lets also not forget about Bull Cen Mark Saunders 12 who went toe to toe with Preston for three periods in the first round of championship action.

Anser makes a ton of mistakes,he won't be top 3 but maybe top 8, Baum went 0-2 at state, don't see him placing, and lee looked pretty good just not enough technicality for the studs

I think it will be interesting to see how many 8th graders and Freshman who went 0-2 at state this year come back and surprise people this next February.  Especially from 152 and up.  They get to state and get a taste of it and want more.  I believe 152 had one 8th grader and on 9th grader at state this year.  The majority of that weight class was juniors and seniors.
