Indiana Midwest Classic Maconaquah High School Team Duals Saturday, June 11th, 2016 Eligibility - Accepting Teams consisting of 7th- 12th Grade Wrestlers. *Looking for 16-20 teams this year and 11+ mats of wrestling if needed Weight Classes - 100, 110, 117, 124, 130, 138, 145, 152, 165, 175, 185, 200, 225, 290 Maximum Roster Size is 25 Wrestlers Total. Cost: $350- If registered before May 20th $450- If registered after May 20th Registration - - Mail to: Maconaquah High School Wrestling Program Attention: Bob Freije 256 E. 800 S. Bunker Hill, IN 46914 Checks- Checks should be made payable to the Battling Braves Club. A $ 100 nonrefundable deposit is required to secure entry. With the deposit and payment include the following information: Phone and Email Contact. Name of Head Coach, 2 Asst. Coaches, and I Table Worker for free gate entry. Duals Start Time - Saturday, June 11th - Coaches Meeting 9:00 - Wrestling Starts at 9:30 AM Weigh-Ins-Friday, June 10th at Maconaquah 5:00-6:00PM - Saturday, June 11th - 8:00 AM Coaches are encouraged to be present at weigh-ins with team and completed roster form, stragglers will be permitted but placed behind complete teams at weigh-ins. Format - Pools and Round Robin format, Final number of entries will determine 5-6 matches. Team Awards- The top 3 teams will receive an award. Individual Awards: All individual wrestlers going undefeated with at least 5 matches get medal Important Note: EACH TEAM MUST PROVIDE A TABLE WORKER FOR SCOREKEEPING. I know that most of the elementary wrestlers will be participating in their district regionals. I wish you all good luck! However, if you have middle school wrestlers that want to get some great competition in order to prepare them for state I highly encourage you to bring them to the Seymour Slam! We will have 6 full mats with adult officials. We keep the spectators up stairs so the wrestlers and coaches can focus on what they do best. This tournament featured wrestlers from all over the state of Indiana last year with wrestlers from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Illinois. We also have a team points race with trophies on the line for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. The teams will be divided as follows: small team (1-7), medium team (8-14), large team (15+), and academy/all-star (best 15 scores). There will be custom medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Custom ribbons for 4th, 5th, and 6th place. Our gear vendor is Sid's Dad Wrestling Company. He has a full line of gear and can make custom shirts on site. I came, I saw, I slammed!!!! I would like to invite you all to participate in the Seymour Slam Folkstyle Open on Saturday, January 24th, 2015! This is a USA Wrestling sanctioned event for pre-k through middle school or peewee-cadet (no High School wrestlers). Last year we had a good cross section of different teams from Kentucky, Indianapolis and South Central Indiana. We are expecting teams from Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Kentucky, Tennessee, South Central Indiana, and Illinois this year. This is a great tournament to wrestle different opponents that you will not see during the year. Last year we ran an organized tournament with coaches or coaching parents only downstairs. Spectators will be upstairs to keep the floor clear. However, we will allow parent coaches to coach their wrestler if they are the coach (no other family members will be allowed around the mat).
