Is there a final tally for pins this year
-
Which weight class do you think was the deepest at state this year?
-
Pick state finals, I'll start... 106- Waffle over Corbett (I could see the 8th grader winning it after a close match in the region finals.) 113- Wells over Gipson (Wells should cruise at this weight. I think it comes down to vowels and gipson on the top. Gipson has looked good at 113 and I think he gets vowels with his size. 120- Davis over Wasson (Davis has at least majored everyone at 120 this year and I can't see him losing to Valera. But who knows, with no #1 ranking next to his name this year, maybe Valera pulls the upset. It's a 3 man race on the top between Wasson, Delos Santos, and Koller. Wasson has looked great since dropping to 120 and I see him taking out either the 113 state champ or 106 runner up from last year.) 126- Kimery over Cornwell (Total cinderella pick. This has been an interesting weight all year. Kimery didn't have a good weekend at regionals but I think he has a decent draw and could make a deep run.) 132- Raney over McClokskey (Pretty much a 2 horse race.) 138- Raney over Evans (Same as 132) 144- Meyer over Roberts (Roberts has an easier path to the finals than everyone at the weight. Tj and Dennis have wrestled a few close matches and I see Tj pulling it out in another 1 takedown match. Tj gets his first title.) 150- Birk over Johns (I'm taking the defending state Champ in the highly anticipated quarterfinal rematch with Jenkins. Birk is the more complete wrestler.) 157- Trumble over Shaddix (Trumble is the clear #1 barring a Thompson upset. The bottom side is up for grabs.) 165- Brown over Matney (Not a ton to go based on other than previous years for Matney. Brown should run through the weight.) 175- Ricketts over Mccourt (Mccourt didn't wrestle last year, by i anticipated a strong return for him. Ricketts runs through the weight.) 190- Vinson over Wilson (I don't know a ton about the upper weights, but Vinson pulled it out over #1 last weekend. Seth Davis could also make a finals run.) 215- Marcus James over Hyden (Im taking M. James over J. James. Marcus has looked good all year, but I could easily see Jack making another finals run as well.) HWT- Cummings over Roth (Once again, i dont know much about this weight.)

It depends on the situation. You can be dq'ed on technical violations and still wrestle the same day. However, if you're ejected for something flagrant, you would get suspended and your season would be over at this point in the year.

Jason sedoris, the rules interpreter for the state confirmed that you can mff in the first round and still wrestle back. There's nothing in the rules that says you can't. -
Who did he beat?

Ren Birk was running the weight at 113 last year and we saw what happened there. Total Homer pick, but we'll see in a few weeks.
