    Integrity

Holding your kids back a grade cause you think it will help them WIN is truly disturbing! What are we really teaching these kids? Instead of having these kids work harder, compete, adversity, we’re teaching them to avoid competition, short cuts and looking for the easiest road. Nobody respects a grown man beating 15 and 16 year olds. Champions don’t avoid tough competition, they don’t look for the easiest road. They look forward to facing the best and put in the work, they don’t look for short cuts and more opportunities cause they couldn’t do it in the 4 years of high school! If a kid is injured and has to miss a season that’s fine but holding a kid back cause he hasn’t been successful and you want to give him additional opportunities shouldn’t be allowed! If you can’t WIN in 4 years of high school then it wasn’t meant to be! It’s an honor to place at the State Tournament and when situations like this start happening your messing with the integrity of the sport! It’s not fair to these kids that do it the right way and Quite frankly it’s not that big of accomplishment if you hold them back and they place, honestly you just took away a spot from a kid more deserving.

    2022 Ranger Report Part 1

First off Ranger you do a phenomenal job!!! With out you none of this would be possible! On behalf of the Entire state we all thank you and appreciate the countless hours you put into this! I have the utmost respect for you but my concerns are with the Kentucky athletic association! My prior comment might of been mocked at the time but 6 out of 8 placers did come from Semi State 1 so I wasn’t far off my prediction! All I was saying is without seeding we aren’t always getting the best kids from top to bottom
  3. This is a joke! You cannot have a legitimate tournament with a random draw! State tournament #1 had all of the top contenders and some of those kids got screwed! Now you have kids from #2 that have no business moving on and taking away spots from kids that deserve it! Not one kid from #2 will place next weekend! When is the state going to wake up and learn how to conduct a proper state championship!
  4. Coaches need to worry about the health of their wrestlers instead of trying to win! When a kid can’t win at the weight he should be competing in and you drop him a weight class so he can be in the top 10 is absolutely negligent behavior on the coach and parent! Real champions don’t avoid weight classes and look for the easy way to place! Starving a child to cut weight so they can make weight is teaching your child nothing but their to scared! Real champions look for the toughest path so they can say they beat the best, they don’t avoid certain wrestlers!
  5. Ranger you do a phenomenal job! Don’t let a few idiots ruin it for everybody!
  6. Just because your ranked 12th doesn’t mean you can’t win a state title! People act like if your not ranked in the top 4 you have zero chance! One of the best wrestlers in Ohio a few years ago wasn’t even ranked and he won a state title!
  7. “For some kids, being ranked high is the highlight for them” LOL! No it’s for parents living through their kids that care about rankings and Harrison County does have plenty of them. If your so disrespected about your sons ranking then have them win state which is the only ranking that matters! Also start scheduling tougher competition throughout the year instead of wrestling JV matches and then expect your son to be recognized throughout the state! Champions could careless where they are ranked, winning a championship is all that matters
