113 is really deep. 215 has turned into a good class. 150 will be really fun to watch. Especially if Harris is wrestling. Haven’t seen him on the mat this season.

He transferred. He signed with Oklahoma state. So it puts him closer. He’s actually not related to Jeff Jordan. He’s a beast though.

Jordyn: place at fargo, place at s32 (beat jax forrest), 4 seed
I think Jayden is too low. Going to be an interesting bracket with Beric and Bo.
Jordyn is about right. Beat Jax lost to Blaze who is 3 and lost to the 2 seed. That is going to be a good one.

Who else is going to Ironman from Union. I thought I seen they had 3.

No. JC will open this weekend at Smokey Mountain duals.

So is that the plan for the Raneys? 113 and 126?

When are they due. I was thinking they had to be in before a teams first competition. Is that true?

Last year we seen JC with 10 placers, 7 in the top 4, and 1 state champ. They still got second and was 70 plus points behind Union. Never thought we would see that. Seems like the top teams are really separating themselves from the rest of the state. I think we will see a really close race between the top 3-4 teams this year.

Good luck to the Ky guys competing this weekend.

A couple of last minutes scratches/changes due to injury/weight change/other stuff...
The first 132 prelim will be scratched as both Frazier and Trumble are out. 132 will only be 1 match now.
Campbell is out at 113 and Trent Cano from Great Crossing is stepping in to face McCloskey.
Hope these kids are Healthy for the season

Hate to hear that. We would of came but the distance you are from us we just go to Jeff Jordan’s. There has been a lot more opportunities in Ky to wrestle every weekend as well. Those clinics have been packed. That could have something to do with it too.

What is the seating like? Someone Said there wasn’t Alot of seating. Will we be a able to purchase a ticket at the event?

Going into this season we have 130 teams
That’s awesome. Seems like it helped going to two classes. Maybe another 20 teams in 10 years.

I hope this works out to be a good thing. We will have at least one more team get recognized. Anyone know how many teams participated prior to two classes and how many after?

I thought there was a post about this but I don’t see it now. Definitely worthy of its own thread.
1a Union
2a JC vs PT with JC winning
3a Trinity, Great Crossing, Oldham Co. Toss up but I think Great crossing might have the depth to get it done.

It would also be hard for me to believe that if a college coach requests tickets from KHSAA that they would be told they have to pay for them. I may be wrong. As for how they were treated. I have no idea what happened. The venue we have had the last 2 years is very tight. Restricting who can be on the actual floor seems reasonable to me. Now if we are talking about the dreaded Horse Park then there is plenty of room for college coaches to wander around the floor area.
Definitely happened with the college coaches. Also witnessed how the KHSAA treated the college coaches. It was not good.

3 minutes ago, Ranger123 said:Good point that space is fairly tight at GRC. But my guess is this is an issue that the KYWCA could help work out with KHSAA. Similar to the officials seating area I'm sure some space could be found for a dozen or so chairs to accommodate college coaches hospitality.
That’s exactly what I’m picturing ranger.
-
I would guess maybe 15 coaches there last year. Many of which said they won’t be coming back Bc they were treated so poorly. Honestly their doing us a favor by coming.
-
So apparently the KHSAA wouldn’t let college coaches on the floor at the state tournament. What’s is everyone’s feelings on this. Most states I’ve been in give free admission and passes to college coaches. With most of Ky kids not doing the big tournaments this seems the only way they will get seen.
I personally would like to see them give them passes and even set them up a chair section some where.

Just now, Ranger123 said:Jayden now ranked #1 in the country on Matscouts (by far the best ranking service). Will be good to see him defend that spot and solidify himself as the best in the country at the weight.
At 120 we might get to see a rematch between Raney and Blaze as well.

Both Ricketts had big wins at Mater Dei. The bigger one beating Kiser and the smaller Ricketts beating the number 2 Krebs.
