    Boro Brawl Nationals April 9

    The Boro Brawl Nationals is back April 9, 2022 at the Owensboro Convention Center, downtown Owensboro, Kentucky. Great opportunity to get some matches against competitors from neighboring states! So far 7 states are represented and looking to add more. Tournament format provides wrestlers to get more than 2 matches, we pool into groups then wrestle brackets to placement. Tournament date is April 9, 2022 Entry Fee is $35 before April 1, $40 April 1-8, $50 on-site Weigh-ins are Friday afternoon from 3-8pm and Saturday 7-8am Youth session- 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U will start at 9am and run to conclusion 15U/HS/Girls session- will start at 1pm and run to conclusion We were thankful that we were able to host an event during the COVID pandemic that provided an opportunity for all to get on the mat and compete. We would like to announce that registration is open for this year's event, Boro Brawl Nationals-2022. This year we look to build on last year's success and provide a high level wrestling experience to you again! A couple of FAQs: **********Age cut-off is January 1, 2022. ********* We will have mat assignments for all divisions, same mat all day **********Two sessions dividing age groups **********Admission $10 adults, $5 students, 5 and under free- good for BOTH sessions ********** 2 pound weight allowance on all weights and divisions***************** If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me!     KWC Duals January 29

    We have two openings for our dual meet tournament on January 29. Cost is $200 per team. Owensboro, Henderson County, Christian County and Ft. Campbell are scheduled to attend. Contact Rob McCabe at denver.mccabe@kwc.edu if interested.

  5. Kentucky Wesleyan is hosting their team camp again this year. We held off promoting to have a large camp this year as we were uncertain with COVID restrictions, now we are full go! Limit to 150 athletes, currently over half way there. Registration is open until June 16. We currently have 9 teams that are in attendance. Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Florida and Georgia represented Looking to add more, cost is $250 per camper which includes room and meals or $150 per commuter and includes lunch and dinner.     Kentucky Wesleyan Team Camp- June 20-24

    Excited for camp in just a few days! All-Star singlets are in and we are ready to get to wrestling! This years clinicians: Chad Cook, head wrestling coach from Lyons College (Arkansas) as our clinician on Monday June 21. Coach Cook took over the program in December and had a NAIA national qualifier this past season. Kentucky's own Brandon Reed will be in on Tuesday, June 22! 3X National Champion from Lindsey Wilson. We have 12 teams and would like to add 3-4 more!

    Thank you to all that came! It was stressful getting it off the ground during these times but I believe it was a success. We wouldn't of been able to host the event without the hard work from our guys! We had a solid group of officials who busted their butts all day. We are looking to put on an event maybe this fall and again next spring! So if you missed this one, be on the look out!

There are wrestlers from 10 states coming to Owensboro. Lets show the nation that Kentucky is a rising wrestling state!     Kentucky Wesleyan College Wrestling is growing the sport in Kentucky with the first annual Boro Brawl Nationals on April 10/11. Entry fee is only $35, we will have all ages from 6U to High School, plus a middle school and high school girls only! The tournament is going to be hosted in the Owensboro Convention Center, a 100,000 sq ft building that will provide the right amount of space for mats and social distancing!   13. Coaches and athletes, Kentucky Wesleyan College is still expecting to hold our annual team camp June 15-19! Teams and individuals are welcome to register at 'Boro Brawl. Cost $250 per camper which includes: Lodging in college dorms Meals each day 10+ duals 5 high level technique sessions Youth and JV sessions If you register without a team, we will find you a team to compete with! This year for our All-Star dual we have custom singlets! Let's kick COVID-19 to the CURB and get back on the mat as soon as we can! We DO have a backup date just in case we are postponed!     The 'Boro Brawl Wrestling Camp

    With the dead period for high school athletes lasting until July 1st, The 'Boro Brawl team camp at Kentucky Wesleyan is being moved to July 13-17. We understand that the date change may not be favorable to everyone who has registered. We will have a refund or camp credit to all. Registration is limited to the first 16 wrestlers in each weight class for each age group. Age Divisions: 8U, 10U, 12U, Middle School, High school Weigh-Ins: We will announce satellite weigh-in locations, youth 7-8am at KWC Middle school and high school weigh-ins will begin at noon. Start Times: Youth at 8:30am and middle school/high school starting after the youth concludes. Cost: $20 early, $25 at the door.   18. With the season finishing up we wanted to get some information out on our dual meet/technique camp this coming June. We have reached out to many of the top 10 teams in their respective divisions in the nearby states, and are getting a lot of interest. We’d like to get more Kentucky representation this summer, and do our part to help grow wrestling out here. Below is a link to our camp website, and breakdown of camp. The website also includes the weight classes (12), camp schedule, registration information, what to bring, etc. Individuals ARE welcome, and will be placed on a team that is vacant at that given weight class. We’ll add a few more clinicians/college coaches this year as well. Outside of getting the competition and technique we want to get the kids exposure, and the chance to meet coaches from all the levels of college wrestling. Extra technique session, Q&A's, mental training, and note-taking sessions for teams will also be available at no charge. There are also a lot of activities to do around town during rec time (fishing, escape rooms, bowling, an indoor ice rink, nearby trails, movie theatre, malls) if you want to get off campus, as well as activities available on campus (football, ultimate frisbee, ping pong, pool, foozball, disc golf, etc.) for the campers to interact with the clinicians and camp staff.

Our focus of the camp is to get your kids valuable mat time, and live wrestling over the summer against top-notch competition from Kentucky and the states in the region ranging from Indiana to Florida, as well as provide the opportunity to get technique instruction from NCAA Champions and NCAA All-Americans.
