Thank you for the rankings..I appreciate the hard work. FYI…you have Claudia Mendez at 235…she is has wrestled 185 all season. Also Jasmin Beckham has dropped weight and has been wrestling 235 the last couple of tournaments.

Any idea when update rankings may come out for the girls since season has started?

August 12th, we will be having a preseason back to school wrestling camp at HCHS! Coach Charles Mason and his Assistant Tyler Westlund from Mount Saint Joseph University will be there to teach the camp! Camp will be for 6th -12th grade and will max out at 75 campers. Cost is $75 per wrestler (includes lunch and T-Shirt) Check-in will start at 9am in the Auxiliary Gym 1st Session 10am-12pm Lunch 12pm-1pm 2nd Session 1pm-3pm I have attached a copy of the flyer to this post, so put it on your calendars and come learn from some top level college coaches in preparation for the upcoming season!

Henderson is looking to host a girls tournament on 12/20/22. we will have round robin in brackets we cant fill.

Has anyone on here ever purchased a mat from AK Athletics Equipment? Just want to make sure they are a legit company with decent product before we spend large amount of money on a mat for our team.

Henderson County will be hosting a camp July 22nd & 23rd that will be instructed by the Lindsey Wilson coaching staff.

I agree! that is why we wrestled the majority our matches this year with Indiana schools! seeking out tougher matches for my wrestlers so they would be better prepared for when they wrestle the teams in Region 1 like Union!

I am glad it was rescheduled, cause it gave one of my girls that was still on covid restrictions another opportunity to wrestle! she was super excited because she thought her season was over!

“Calling all former wrestlers and coaches” I am looking for individuals with a wrestling background who are interested in being an assistant coach with the Henderson County Wrestling Program. The individuals would primarily work with the middle program and or youth program. The individuals selected will teach basic principles run in the high school program. They have to understand and be able to teach the athletes in a way that when they reach 8-9th grade that they know the basic style of what is expected at Henderson County High School. The individuals need to be kind, knowledgeable, good with kids, respectable, and be able to commit to being at practices (primarily with middle school) and tournaments. The individuals would also assist with recruiting kids to come participate in our new youth wrestling program during the spring where the coaches, high school wrestlers, and select guests assist with instruction and drills, while helping to promote the program to gain interest in the sport. The Individuals would travel with high school team to events unless there was a middle school event or practice on the same day. So if you are a former wrestler, coach or parent who wants to be involved in teaching and mentoring the next generation of wrestlers, please reach out to me and come join our family!

Does anyone have or know of a school that has a mat for sale. We have a large turn out this year and the one mat we have will not be enough to accommodate everyone. We are trying to raise funds for a new one but are willing to settle for a used mat that is in good condition. Jermaine Poynter- Henderson County Head Wrestling Coach

I don’t agree with doing away with weight classes....if anything you could possibly add an additional weight class or two. I like the idea of adding 98lb

Henderson County is in the process of bringing back the wrestling program for the 2018-2019 season and are in need of mats. Does anyone know of any used mats for sale or a team that is disbanded that may longer need mats?
